It's like this -- people call you left or right so they can put you in a group and disagree with you as a whole. Everyone's guilty of it. However, when it comes down to it I do find it funny how many latch onto their liberal or conservative nametag and often go with them just because they think somewhat alike. I bet they disagree in many areas too. However, politicians (namely divisive conservative politicians who love conflict rather than mending bridges) have turned this thing not into an American system, but a conservative or liberal one, kinda like sports teams where people only root for their team or someone playing against the team they hate. It's why it will get much worse until people wise up.

You just contradicted your own post. EG I hate when people use "nametags" but those "conservatives" etc etc :bonk:

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yet that must be it.

There are two major points of views in the US. So yes people will cling to the name tags they associate with.

Wonder who made the rule there has to be two, and why one can't think for their own self.

If she gets pregnant under "normal" circumstances and doesn't want the kid she can put the baby up for adoption.

anyone actually know anyone that has been adopted? judging by this conversation, i'm thinking no.

I'm adopted...

So am I.

ok, so what do you both think of abortion being replaced by adoption in some cases? just wondering what people thought about that comment.

don't get me wrong i think adoption is great, but for the kids who get left in care, i'm not sure it is so great :(

Well, I had a wonderful weekend y'all...

Last night I read through some of the threads here in OT... and was like wow... between the dosages of blood pressure meds and antipsychotics that I could suggest I think I should have gotten into Pharm School.

Anyway, lets see which trolls make their escapades this week around here and which ones try (successfully and not) to stir the wonderfully illogical sh!tpot that VJ politics is turning out to be.

 Yup you are 100% correct... like I've said before forums tend to attract the far left & far right and for some reason this particular forum seems to attract the far right. The moderates who oppose their views are then labeled as leftists or liberals by the far right, because to them a moderate view appears to be so. It's pretty damn funny actually.

actually, you'll find more far left than far right.

Its all about perspective I guess... you think you're correct & I think I'm correct. Its not like a math problem where 2 +2 = 4, it's all subjective.

my subjective is what matters to me :P

What field do you have a degree in?

What relevance does that have to the above statement?

Does pointing out that ideology is more nuanced than stark ideological opposites require someone to declare their education, salary and GPA?

You don't need (any) qualifications to make that observation - its obvious.

I want to know what field he is qualified in. Simple as that. As I have asked from you.

But why do you need to know this? It has no relevance to his claim.
