Well, I had a wonderful weekend y'all...

Last night I read through some of the threads here in OT... and was like wow... between the dosages of blood pressure meds and antipsychotics that I could suggest I think I should have gotten into Pharm School.

Anyway, lets see which trolls make their escapades this week around here and which ones try (successfully and not) to stir the wonderfully illogical sh!tpot that VJ politics is turning out to be.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

While we're bringing up abortion and gay rights...if you're talking about Pro Life issues, let's also lump Capital Punishment in there.

It rankles me to see people b!tch about abortion yet not bat an eye at capital punishment. Either you are pro life or you aren't. Don't tell me there's a difference because life is life. When you start saying one is more important than the other, then you are playing God. I do believe there's only one God in my religion who has the right to that judgment. If one believes in the New Testament then I don't know how one can justify this.

how about if i believe in both abortion and capital punishment?

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. (Matthew 5:38-40) bust a cap in their azz with colt or smith and wesson. (charles 1:1-1)

I can't see the logical sense in being for the killing of an innocent baby based simply on its location (inside its mother versus outside) while being against executing someone who has unjustly killed someone.

If this is your logic you're not arguing against pro-choice, but merely a stance on "killing innocent babies".

Who here is pro "killing innocent babies"? I venture nigh zero compared to pro-choice.

It's part of the whole smear campaign. Pro-Choice sounds intelligent, accommodating, and only says that the person supports the right of other people to choose. That isn't "evil" enough for the Pro-Lifers. They should technically be called the "Anti-Choicers" or "No Choicers". That keeps the actual issue on a level playing field. Pro-Choice people are not necessarily pro-abortion. I for one am Pro-Choice as a whole, but would not want Mags to have an abortion. The issue is about the right of the mother to decide if she is able, ready and willing to have a child. "We" say it is up to her. "They" say it is up to them.

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with trusting people to live by their own moral code - rather than forcing them to accept that of the church. Morality doesn't need to be imposed on people by tongue-clicking legislation.

 Yup you are 100% correct... like I've said before forums tend to attract the far left & far right and for some reason this particular forum seems to attract the far right. The moderates who oppose their views are then labeled as leftists or liberals by the far right, because to them a moderate view appears to be so. It's pretty damn funny actually.

If she gets pregnant under "normal" circumstances and doesn't want the kid she can put the baby up for adoption.

anyone actually know anyone that has been adopted? judging by this conversation, i'm thinking no.

I'm adopted...

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Its all about perspective I guess... you think you're correct & I think I'm correct. Its not like a math problem where 2 +2 = 4, it's all subjective.

It's like this -- people call you left or right so they can put you in a group and disagree with you as a whole. Everyone's guilty of it. However, when it comes down to it I do find it funny how many latch onto their liberal or conservative nametag and often go with them just because they think somewhat alike. I bet they disagree in many areas too. However, politicians (namely divisive conservative politicians who love conflict rather than mending bridges) have turned this thing not into an American system, but a conservative or liberal one, kinda like sports teams where people only root for their team or someone playing against the team they hate. It's why it will get much worse until people wise up.

I think its pretty pathetic- yet not surprising given past posts in the outrageous. And for that, I suppose I am insulting whomever wants to 'feel' insulted.

Definitely subjective to interpretation. nwman pretty much sums it up. As to the quantity of any one or the other is irrelevant. The crazies are everywhere and one more message board has no reason to be different from the lunacy in da real world yah.

At the end of the day, both "sides" are in it for their own selfish benefit. If America was so full of conservatives, there wouldn't be many individual freedoms while this supposed respect of authority (fear of) would be large while you'd have the lower and middle classes working for the benefit of the upper classes. If America was so full of liberals, there there'd be supposedly many individual freedoms while the supposed respect of authority (its questioning of) would be large while you'd have lower and middle classes seeking to become upper classes and the upper classes couldn't aspire to be filthy rich but just plain old rich.

Of course, that is not the case as this society is the way it is and will doubtfully go the way of the proletariat any time soon- aka, never. It will fall somewhere between the two extremes as dictated by whom the voters decide to serve: themselves with input into their supervision or themselves serving the supervisors.
