YES i would suggest using paypal! i had trouble with the bank because they wanted information that my OH didnt understand ! so paypal is alot easier!

although there is a charge for sending money! i sent the fee for the I129f to my fiance and there was a$18 charge which you can choose to pay or leave it for your OH to pay! its up to you! ( i guess the more you pay in the more they will charge)

if you type it in on the site but dont click send it will tell you the fina cost for sending it!!

good luck

Colin & Jess

I use paypal all the time but that is for ebay ha ha yes I am an addict

However if you are trasferring it over to the states and exchanging it into $'s, then I would check the rate that they give you, as it might not be that great, and if you are doing a lump sum it might be worth checking out if the rate means it would be better to pay a fee and get a higher rate

I have not done this yet, will look into that once my visa is in hand, and hopefully someone who has done this will be able to shed more light

I already have a US bank acount and use PayPal monthly to send my salary from Ukraine into it. Minimal fees and works out great.

We've used MoneyGram for smaller amounts with good results - if you need it there quickly (like in a day) - banks/locations all over (e.g., most Sparkasse') Germany - and almost any WalMart (and then some) in the US. Never tried PayPal since only one of us had an account with them.

For larger amounts (you decide what that is) - we simply used wire-transfer (directly from your bank to theirs). It is best to call the US bank to get the proper routing numbers as they are different for international x-fers. There is always a fee (of course, what's new?) but it's reliable and takes about 24/48 hours in most cases.
