Ok..this has totally turned into a kitchen experiment :) I found out on allrecipe that I can BAKE them! I am doing both! I am frying a few slices in a frying pan and baking some in the oven. I used an Italian seasoned breadcrumb and added salt pepper and an allspice. Dipped and baking now. :)

It's here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Remoulade-Sau...ans/Detail.aspx and it's pronounced "rum-o-lawd". It's traditionally served on a shrimp salad here, but it excellent on so many other things. It's a spicy, creamy sauce. I usually buy this version:

yummmmmm...don't make me hungry, Noura! The best fried green tomatoes I ever had was that meal at K-Paul's in New Orleans. So good! Aren't they usually crusted in cornmeal, not breadcrumbs?

p.s. Hi Sora! Congrats on the job! I've been meaning to PM you. Did your husband ever find ME work yet?!

Sora, I forgot to tell you congratulations on your graduation! I will certainly say that God has given the patience to a few that can tolerate a class full of first graders!! Best wishes on your career.

Jackie...love fried green tomatoes!!! I usually make mine the good old fashion way with cornmeal and fry in oil. Let me know how they are in the oven. I'm sure they are much more healthier.

Terrie....thanks, yes Malek is growing so fast! He is an expert army crawler!

Noura, don't leave I will miss my girl!

Tam thanks for the website!
