how come for the same I751, VSC is so slow???
There was a big accident at the maple syrup factory. That sticky stuff just went everywhere. It's slowing down the traffic, people are getting stuck while they walk down the sidewalks - it even got into their internet and it's slowing down e-mail. CNN says that Vermont emergency management officials expect to get this disaster under control by the end of next month. Edited by akdiver

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

how come for the same I751, VSC is so slow???

Your time frame.

01-24-08 I751 Sent to VSC

12-15-08 Eligible to file N400

If you are eligible to file for the N-400 12-15-08, you were eligible to file for the I-751 12-15-07, why did you wait until 01-24-08 to file it?

Could be Vermont figures you are in no rush, so why should they.

It's a terrible feeling to conduct normal business here with an expired green card with a one year extension that nobody knows what that is about. Why don't you have a valid green card? Are you wonder some form of criminal investigation as the reason the USCIS didn't issue a new card?

You only waited barely eight months so far, a couple of years ago, that wait was more like two years, if you didn't file your I-751 could be deported, if you did file and waiting and did not make constant infopass appointments, could still stay, but not work nor travel, they really wanted you to sweat it out. Most of us here went through that as another key motivation to get our USC, if not for us, for our spouses that we loved very dearly. Then you may meet some dingbat at the interview infopass appointment, that will give you only another 30 day with a I-94 or a I-551 stamp if you still had a current valid foreign passport. Yeah, you had to carry your passport around.

Should work on your English for the N-400, instead of "Why does VSC slower than CSC???", try "Why is VSC slower than CSC???" Actually VSC was faster than Nebraska or Texas, so should ask, Why is CSC faster than VSC? But none of the service centers gave a darn whether you were here legally or not, just made you sweat. That is one key motivation factor for getting your USC, so you can say you are done with the USCIS.

Even though you are a little mean, still thanks for your reply. I know my english is not perfect, but you don't need to stab my heart. I just feel that it is not fair we all file for the same I751, VSC is about 10 months wait, or maybe even longer for some people. However, CSC is only about 4-5 months wait.

About why i wait until Jan 24th to file I751, i have my reason. I don't need to expain to you.

Everybody here is waiting, we don't need your lecture, all we want is some info and support.

Wasn't trying to be mean, was trying to be helpful.

It was only a couple of months ago we were sharing your frustration with that I-751 process and I guess I haven't clammed down yet from that almost 15 month experience in waiting and waiting with threats from our state and my wife's employer, plus trying to keep her foreign passport valid while here as a LPR. My ranting was not intended for you, but for the carelessness and total lack of concern by the USCIS. If they say you must without notification that you must file the I-751, then let the one year extension expire, again without notification, you really have to stay on top of it to remain here legally that requires you to make an infopass appointment right at the last minute when you may learn, all the appointments are full. Then take a day off of work to make that appointment, if you can even get the day off.

That expired green card is worthless without the one year extension, and that one year extension is worthless without the expired green card, so you have to carry both and pray no one steals your purse.

The proof for the I-751 is essentially the same proof you had to submit to come here in the first place with minor updates. With a lottery limit of 50,000 persons per year for immigration, marriage is the only other outlet to bring people here. But how many of us married the mates of our dreams to bring them here? We married them because we love them and they love us, and we simply want to live together. But yet treated like criminals with the burden of proof on our shoulders that our intentions are pure. No where could I find how many bad guys is the I-751 process catching, especially after that very thorough investigation just to bring that person here. But if that is their game, you have to play it, and by their rules. They charge a small fortune for fees, make you supply tons of proof, and tell you to submit your I-751 90 days before your conditional permanent resident card expires, that's a contradiction in English terms if there ever was one, a conditional temporary permanent resident card. But if they say 90 days, they should give you your new PERMANENT resident card that is only good for ten years in that time frame.

And not only is the immigrant under trial, but the USC as well. As the USC, you first have to sign that I-864 where you can really get nailed by marrying the wrong person, and can face a $250,000 fine and five years in prison if the USCIS so elects, whereas the immigrant is simply deported. Isn't this enough for them even without the I-751? Apparently not. And while the USC is in jail, the immigrant can claim abuse or hardship and still stay here, the USC is really put in a bad position, but yet when the USC makes the call, they want to talk to the immigrant, the most biased and stupidest procedure I have ever ran across with our government.
