I had mine stolen when I was living in Australia when our flat got broken into (Bondi beach area - druggie heaven - they don't put THAT on the the tourist guides!) and it had my Aussie visa and also my US one (this was back in the day before VWP).

I was in a HUGE panic - tho the US embassy in Sydney said I didnt need the physical visa as they had records I got it re-done anyways. The UK consulate were marvellous - I had a new passport within a day - and no-one seemed bothered about me having a brand new passport with no entry stamp (which meant my whole panic had been for nought really, lol) when I left Aus and entered the US.

The worst thing for you is gonna be the loss of the I-194 - with any LUCK the passport will get handed in as it was just 'lost' as opposed to stolen. There ARE honest people in the world - I hope it gets found!

arghh....hope it has got handed in Sammy....I dropped mine while we were flying back from the US last year...I got pulled for an extra security check and had to go to another queue, by the time I got there my passport was no longer in my sweaty mitt my fiance looked on in horror as I crawled on my hands and knees weaving thro' people .... I did find it tho'.

No one has handed it in so far, but the consulate in LA have been great and I've mailed my forms to Washington DC to get a new passport (which will be here before the wedding). I'm still trying to get an infopass appointment to see what i need to do - at least i got through immigration with my passport and gave in my brown envelope etc!! I think i'll need to send for a new I-94 thingy though but hopefully it should be ok - my mum photocopied my visa so at least i have a copy of numbers etc! (jeez my mum always saves me )!!

I've chilled out now anyway so we are really loving being back together, although he did need re-training slightly Its so awesome waking up next to each other, eating together, even grocery shopping together!!! I still can't quite believe I'm here for good this time

Pooh..I was hoping it would have turned up by now.

I know you want to enjoy your time here, but you better get on that I-94 replacement ASAP. You won't be able to get your Social Security number without it. Nor will you be able to file your AOS.

The bad part is that not only do they charge you around $200 to file for the replacement I-94, they also take their sweet time about getting it to you. My understanding is 60-90 days.....

Dont overlook the obvious. It may have turned up.

Of course, if you dropped it in a restaraunt or something in the airport, they may have it.

Seriously.....60-90 days????? I've got an infopass appointment tomorrow morning so i'll get the forms etc then, that sucks so bad, I need to work!!!!!! So could be another 6 months before I can even work???

Sammie, when Wes entered the US he was not issued an I-94. He came in on a Friday thru Dublin and we realized we were missing the I-94 on Monday. Because it was customs' error, we were able to convince Pittsburgh Int. Airport CBP to issue us a replacement - they really did it only out of the goodness of their heart!

I remember researching what a pain it was going to be to get a replacement, and I am fairly certain that I am correct about the long delay.
