Found this in the K1 thread and thought I would share it in this forum also...

For K1 filiers you can submit the first packet without your SO's signature on the G325A or the passport photos they ask for and you shouldn't receive an RFE, according to the memo USCIS issued - see memo at http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/I1...325A_110105.pdf.

According to the memo, if your SO lives abroad the USC can submit the packet of info and fill out the G325A for your SO and send in without the signature. At the time of the interview the SO will then sign and submit the photos that are required. If anyone chooses this route, I would suggest sending a copy of this memo in with your packet. Wouldn't want anyone to get an unnecessary RFE.

I wish I would have known this before I mailed my SO the forms to sign and then had to wait over month to have the forms get to JA and then back to me in the States. Could have saved both of us some money.

I wonder...........what they say and what they actually do are sometimes very different.

It would be interesting to see if anyone makes it through doing it this way.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I agree with Jomo's girl, I'd rather spend some money paying for the courier to send the forms back and forth, than risking getting a RFE for this reason, even if you send the memo with the package, there is not guarantee that it wont cost you precious time trying to explain the existence of this memo.

OP, could paste the link again? I get this message when I tried to open it "Requested Page Not Found on Site".

Thanks!

Yeah, it may be a toss up on what actually happens versus what they are bound to.
