Deploying overseas, please help

I have received the NOA2 from the State Department's National Visa Center and was issued the Case Number for Guangzhou, China on April 25, 2006. The problem that I have is that I will go through military training starting on July 9th, our unit is due to be overseas in August. I have contacted my congressman's office, they stated that they contacted the Consulate's Office in Guangzhou and was told to call back in August.

What other options are there for me? Once I'm deployed it's impossible to get leave to come back to the states to marry my fiancee. My fiancee hasn't even received the packet with instructions from the consular section yet, please, what can be done?

My only suggestion would be to contact them directly and if you get the same response, try to escalate with your Senator.

Have a consultation with an immigration attorney. If you're in the military already, start with your post's legal people. The military presents some special situations, that we civilians don't face, that can be handled appropriately - perhaps your's is one of them.

One thing to remember is it may take a month or so till Your fiance gets her interview. Once the visa is issued it is good for 6 Months. The 90 days does not start until Yout fiance comes thru a POE in the US. How long is the exercise? Would this time frame allow You to be back in the States in time?

If not You should have a conseltation with an attorney that has dealings with the military and imigrations.

The deployment is scheduled to last for 18 months. This is why it is so critical for her to come here prior to my deployment overseas.

Def agree with Yodrak, I too belive deployment for a member of the military is a valid reason for expediting cases (USCIS have only about 1 or 2 reasons they will do this) but also you might wanna bypass the congressman and go straight for your senator - bigger strings can pulled at that level I'm sure.

I'd let the congresspreson know that that's unacceptable.

And try either/both Senator's office. ASAP.

Bringing Xiang to the States without you for 18 months isn't a good idea for her. (Unless she's been here before and understands our culture?)
