Hellooooooo!!!

Guess I ought to do the decent thing and introduce me/us :)

Well I am Jess and the American in question is Jason. I'm from North Yorkshire in England and he's from Ohio but lives in FL. We met last year while I was out in Orlando on a work visa working at the fantabulous Walt Disney World and started dating earlier this year...Jason proposed in June and....after taking a little while to think about it!!!...I said yes please :) So now we are engaged!!! We're taking our time to chill and work to save up to get married, and also get our heads round the terrifying amount of visa information out there.

This site's already been a bloomin' godsend by actually putting all the information out there into PLAIN ENGLISH...Tylenol have made a fortune off the migraines I've had trawling the USCIS and Embassy websites!! Thanks so much for saving my poor brain!

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

4.26.2013: Mailed N400 Packet

7.18.2013: Testing and Interview

Welcome to VJ. My hubby was in Uk on visa and thats where I went to see him for the first time. to London. My question is to many from UK why not live there instead? I would love to go there , give us a good job and way and we would live there. anyways, good luck and just remember Patience, patience, patience......

Well personally we have our own reasons for me being the one to move, but I think for a lot of people they find the cost of living in the UK right now super expensive...when I came back to the UK after 6 months in the States I almost had a heart attack the first time I went shopping! And don't forget that the weather here can be pretty lame - year round sunshine in Florida definitely has its appeal :)
