After the oath taking...

I had my oath taking on Sept 17 and then went to the SS office to change my immigration status. After which I applied for a US passport. Do I need to update anything else???

Marriage at the beautiful St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands - Nov 6

NOAs for AOS & EAD - recvd mail on Dec 15 but receipt date is Dec 8

got TD shot for AOS - Dec. 15 paid $15

Church wedding Sept 18

NOA1's for AOS/EAD received Sept 20 MSC #

Biometrics completed Nov 5 2004

EAD Approval Dec 29 2004

AOS appointment letter received Feb 3 2005

AOS interview scheduled for March 9 2005

AOS interview mostly fine, just need I-693 supplement filled out by civil surgeon

Spend another $40 for I-693 form, sent to local USCIS office registered mail, arrived March 11 2005

AOS finally approved March 25th 2005

Green card arrives about 10 days later

!!Green card has incorrect middle name!! Thanks USCIS

Travel back to Denver, turn in card and I-90 to correct their mistake.

Application accepted, asked for I-551 stamp, they told me "We don't do stamps anymore"

NOA1 for I-90 received from NSC April 18 2005, fee waived

NSC appears to have stoped processing I-90's

Marilyn needs to travel back to the RP, call Senators office for help with green card or I-551 stamp

Travel back to Denver July 1, 2005 and received I-551 stamp in the passport.

http://www.newcitizen.us/after.html gives information, the first place my wife went to with her certificate was to her employer as they have a database when her green card would expire, she was directed to three different departments to update their database as well. I did get involved as it took time to explain to them why the USCIS was so slow during that crazy I-751 thing.

Another outfit that gave us a very difficult time was our DMV, refusing to renew her driver's license, what in the hell is a one year extension notice? Planning on going there this morning so they can change their database as well. State puts an immigration office in charge that doesn't know anything about the USCIS or how it operates. She is already in the state's database for voting, but as usual, one agency cannot talk to another. Certainly she has to be in the USCIS database, but apparently the DOS doesn't have access to that nor to the SS database.

Yeah, they all want to see that original certificate and instead of a thin sheet of paper that is very easy to tear, and the price they charge for it, should be engraved in platinum instead.
