It's true, if conservatives had to rely on those who benefitted from their fiscal policies to get enough votes to get into power they would never get elected. Top 1%? The rest are helping these guys out :)

eh? so their fiscal policies are selfish?

maybe it is part of the human condition if you have been raised to be narcissistic.

republicans are not interested in the wellbeing of everyone, that is selfish.

Conservative policies may not be good for everyone, but many conservative voters are very philanthropic considering they vote for policy that has no concievable benefit to themselves.

Speaking of philanthrpy, charity begins at home. They want those of us who have been financially successful us to be forced by our government to sacrifice, but between Obama and Biden, their personal charitable giving reported to the IRS has been miniscule and very self-serving - how unpatriotic!. Obama has an impoverished brother living in a hut in Kenya living on scraps, a story that the liberal media tries to cover up. But we can all pitch in to help him.

You don't have to be a Dem to appreciate the demonstrable contradiction between what they say and what they do.

That is funny because every area I have lived in in the United States, which just so happen to be Democrat strongholds, are not only money hungry but also extremely self centered and materialistic. People who would drive over you if they could make an extra buck.

Then you see the same people campaigning for change and helping others..

Maybe cliche slogans impress Americans but to people like myself, from abroad, I see right through the bull #######. Democrats have had control of congress for nearly a year now but seem to spend most of their time on breaks and saying how bad GWB and republicans are.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Actually, the Democratic Congress was elected to office in 2006. That would mean they have had control for 2 years, rather than 1. Just to clarify ;)

Again - while I certainly won't defend their ineptitude, the previous (Republican) Congress actually had a lower job approval rating (i.e. the reason it was voted out) and more to the point - not only did they hold a majority through 3/4 of Bush's presidency.

If blame is the name of the game - some honest perspective seems to be badly needed.

Like Leach, Lincoln Chafee is a reminder of the days when moderates could find a home in the Republican Party as advocates for fiscal responsibility, environmental protection and restraint in foreign policy. Chafee left the Republican Party in March to vote for Obama in Rhode Island's Democratic primary. He was the first Democrat Chafee had ever voted for.

Chafee served alongside McCain in the Senate; they were the only two Senate Republicans to oppose the Bush tax cuts in 2001. Chafee has since watched McCain adopt the very policies he once denounced. "Seeing the two different John McCain's is a fracture in his credibility," Chafee says.

I've heavily followed Lincoln Chafee, and I can honestly say he is a perfect example of how rational moderate Republicans could be. The Republican party of today has changed even further to the right, even further against civil liberties, even further away from fiscal responsibility. If Chafee ever ran for Republican President he'd get my vote. However, he was smart and left the party. Too bad this country's politics put in a Democrat who is more to the right than the Republican he replaced.

Obarmy and his "we are our brother's keeper" (or whatever) statement. How about you give your ACTUAL brother a couple of hundred bucks ? I just can't stand the double standards.

Want to be outraged? Obama's brother certainly is by the BS dittoheads are spreading!

He [George Obama] said that he was furious at subsequent reports that he had been abandoned by the Obama family and that he was filled with shame about living in a slum. “It seems there are people who want to destroy me and my family,” he said.

“They say I live on a dollar a month, but this is all lies by people who don’t want my brother to win.” He said that he was supported by his mother, Jael, who now lives in the US, and by a cousin in Huruma.

Double standards? We've been there before - for instance when GWB pandering to "culture of life" issues as President (specifically the Terry Shiavo case), when a few years before as Texas governor he signed the Futile Care Bill into law.

DNC REFORM ENDORSES MCCAIN. MORE DEMOCRATS LEAVING OBAMA

http://www.dncreform.com/

The DNC Reform have endorsed John McCain for President. They, like most of the other Hillary groups like http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net were working on Plan A which was Hillary 08 but once that was proven to be a farce. Most of us have moved to Plan B which is McCain 08. Sarah Palin has indeed paid off for McCain because a lot of these folks were either going to stay home or vote 3rd Party. We wanted as many of these groups on board the Straight Talk Express and thanks to Sarah they have jumped on board.

I hope the Republicans are ready for the massive amount of Democrats on board the Straight Talk Express. The DNC is in trouble. It's time to get rid of all the traitors.

Yep still outraged. It appears that Barack "ive got very long pockets and very short arms" Obarmy has left the financial burden of his brother to Jael and someone in Huruma. If a very rich man like BHO can stick his fingers up at his own brother, imagine what he can do for you....

The DNC paid him to say that. At least they paid him; he could use it.

Obama won't share his book earnings with his own brother, but he expects us to take care of people we don't even know with our earnings.
