Hi Guys,

Does anyone having or had problems obtaining IIN from the live operator. I tried about 10X they wouldnt give it up! Those of you who obtained it, how did you do it? what did u say? when did u call!?.... I just want to pay all the bills and send the paperwork super fast...hehehe.... Thanks for ur help! :thumbs:

Sorry to hear, we had no problem obtaining when i called - just try calling back and say you are paying online etc blah blah and need your case number for the embassy-

The only way I could get the IIN was when they mailed the IV bill to my wife in the Philippines and it was on the paper. So maybe you will have to wait like I did until they mail it? Hope this helps.

Took me over 30 attempts, but I finally got it from an operator...and yeah, it's good to stick with the "live" operators, the dead ones are no help at all. :lol:

But seriously, there are no magic times or magic phrases. Either the operator you speak to will give it to you, or they won't.

There's no sense in arguing, begging, asking for a supervisor, or using logic. If they say "no", they will not change their mind.

Just hang-up and hope you get another (better) operator. The only magic is to keep trying.

My bill came in only a few days.

It is hardly worth the time to call them over and over since they are so prompt in sending out the actual paper these days. And considering the AOS bill is not the limiting factor, it really isn't as important as getting the 3032 emailed and acknowledged so you can pay the IV bill and get the 230 sent.

I emailed DS3032 on 9/19. I overnighted it today. I am expecting AOS to arrive this week. so I can pay everything and send the packages by next week. I am waiting for my husband's documents to arrive this week though. hopefully theres no mistakes.....

I recall that I asked if the IV bill had been sent. Then I asked for the IIN so that I could verify it when it arrives. You have a right to know this information. Don't tell them you're going to pay online until they give you the IIN. After they gave me the IIN I then told them I would try to pay online. Then they told me not to because the online system doesn't work. I did it anyway and everything was just fine.

One advantage of paying online is that as soon as the payment is processed (which takes about a day) you can download the cover page for the IV so you can immediately then send in the IV, which is a big time saver. No need to wait for the IV to be generated at NVC. Much faster than James' short cuts and you're actually using a genuine state dept. form! You need to call NVC back several times to make sure they acknowledge the payment and receipt of the IV etc..., but everything should work out just fine.

Yeah...having the IIN saves at least 2 weeks.

It was worth calling for me...even though OTHER stuff slowed us down. :)
