I just finished your survey but the my main reasons to become a citizen where not there:

1. Citizenship, like marriage, gives me a sense of security. The goverment wont be able to deport me and my family will always be together (not that I plan to do anything that may trigger a deportation but since I have children I want to make sure that mommy and daddy will always be with them).

2. I dont want to deal with USCIS anymore.

3. With an American passport I wont need a visa next time I travel abroad (It can be such a hassle).

4. I want to be able to leave the US for more than 6 months and still be able to come back (not that I intend to leave but again, I want to be able to).

5. Many Americans dont like foreigners expressing their political views even if they are LPR, even though all goverment decisions affect them. I want to express my political opinions (go Obama!!!!!!) without people commenting that I should mind my own country's business.

BTW, my children have dual citizenship and I am teaching them to love BOTH the US and my home country because their roots are in both places.

Life is beautiful
