Hello All,

I just called the NVC and found that they are asking us to complete the check list they are sending which includes biographic page of passport, original birth certificate, original marriage certificate, and etc., to complete our case.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this and if this is a necessary step that everyone has gone through. Please help I am freaking out and need help. I do not want to send the original because we have K interview scheduled for November and we need to take the original there at the time of interview. Please help this is really worrying us please any help would be good.

Thanks.

Everyone goes through that. It is the DS-230 package. Make sure you get certified copies of the marriage and birth certificates. You will also need a Police record and you will need to submit the original and you also need the copy of the biographical page of the passport which does not need to be certified. Good luck.

You are ok, just send them what they are requesting and you will be fine - we had sent all our paperwork but it fell thru the cracks somewhere and had to redo - it did not delay our case but by a week - one thing we learned was to have two copies of originals when ordering - i.,e, marriage certificate, police cert etc.

Just wait for the letter and submit back the evidence and you will be fine

Cheers

Susie

I have this problem myself. My husband only has the one original birth certificate. He cannot go back to Iraq to get another one and the Iraqi embassy is no help. We are torn as to what to do since if they lose his birth certificate then he will not have one at all.

Married: May 28th, 2007

Arrived in the US: December 10th, 2008

I believe you can just send them notarized copies from the state or government where you got them from

I wouldn't send in originals. you wont' get them back

You will get your original back at the interview and you also have to submit the original/certified copy of the documents and they will keep copies. I am not sure about your REF.

In my case I will have to submit these documents to NVC it might be little bit different on your case depend on the country your spouse interview going to be.

Please review all the enclosed documents for your reference:

1)Bar Coded Cover sheet

2)2 Passport Size Photographs of the Beneficiary

3)Completed and signed form DS-230 Part 1 by the Beneficiary

4)Completed and unsigned form DS-230 Part 2 by the Beneficiary

5)Photocopy of the Passport’s Biographic Data Page of the Beneficiary

6)Original Birth Certificate of the Beneficiary

7)Original Marriage Certificate of the Beneficiary and the Petitioner

8)Original 2 Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship of the Petitioner and the Beneficiary

9)Original Police Certificates of the Beneficiary

+

Please have the photocopies of the following documents:

1.Passport’s Biographic Data Page of the Beneficiary

2.Birth Certificate of the Beneficiary

3.Marriage Certificate of the Beneficiary and the Petitioner

4.2 Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship of the Petitioner and the Beneficiary

5.Police Certificates of the Beneficiary

Hope this helps you, and wait for the missing document list from the NVC, in mean time get all the paper ready.
