Okay, i know that for the most recent tax year i am supposed to provid last tax transcript and copy of tax return but for the two years before that, do i provdie the tax transcript and the copy of tax return or just the transcripts? Help please? I am confused. :help:

If using transcripts you dont need to provide copies of returns.

Only past year return is required additional years are optional:

You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year. If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns for the three most recent years.

one or the other is required.... providing both is overkill but wont harm you

tax transcripts replace any need.... If you use returns then W-2's are needed for any year provided. W-2's alone without returns are not typically accepted

Interview 5/21/09 PASSED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again use transcripts.

IRS returns = Copy of (1040 and any supporting W2 and/or 1099) W2s not needed if using transcripts, and W2s without a 1040 mean nothing.
