Hello all, I am looking for some help with my soon to be step-daughter. She will finish her school year in November and then (in Colombia) she would only have 2 years of HS left to graduate. But, in the USA she is in the age group for a Freshman. Of course I want her to excel, but I do not think the good old US school system completely understands that "technically" she should be entering in her Junior year next. So, what advise does anyone have? Also, what about school transcripts?? Her mother has all her "grades" since HS, but did anyone ever get "transcripts" from the school system that differs from what a parent would receive??? If so, what is it called in Spanish because my fiance doesn't really know what to ask for from the school, if there is any such a thing.... Thanks so much, John

PS, if anyone has a stepdaughter around 14 when she moved to the USA from Colombia, it would really help to talk to you specifically.

Yes, but they don't know what the transcripts should look like from Colombia, or what to expect to see. So I am asking if anyone has done this.

Have you talked to the school district about placement process to address your concerns? I am sure you are not the first with this question.
