:rofl: You kill me.... basically the Bush doctrine has failed (absolutely no response to my post because quite frankly you can't come up with a decent rebuttal), so you start saying that Obama has violated the Logan act. Nice tactic, but very transparent. :wow:

The Logan Act is quite clearly a B/S law that has never been successfully prosecuted in the modern time.

I was listening to Michael Savage the other night - and he seems to love throwing these sorts of things out there to basically manufacture scandal. He was also saying that Obama wouldn't pass the background check to become an FBI agent, because of his past associations. But of course he doesn't expand that rationale to other candidates (or sitting presidents) past and president, because it would make him look rather silly.

Yup the same BS tactic the Republicans use over & over. Iraq is a perfect example... invade a country based on trumped up intel, screw up the execution of the war for 3-4 years & then when the Dems point out these facts call them unpatriotic and soft on terrorism. It's denial, hypocrisy & not taking responsibility for your actions all rolled up into one. The fact that nearly 50% of Americans still support these clowns just astounds me.

First of all Republicans (deliberately) take quotes out of context almost all of the time, so I place very little weight on this topic. However if there's any truth to it I would surmise that Obama was arguing that the Bush doctrine has failed, he doesn't support it, and if elected he would take a more holistic approach to foreign relations.

For those of you not familiar with the Bush doctrine it essentially takes a very aggressive stance and promotes taking preemptive strikes against potential enemies and promoting democratic regime change (e.g. Iraq). Those who support the Bush doctrine would call it a proactive approach; those who do not support it would call it war mongering. Personally I would argue that there's no question that the threats against the USA are real, but at the same time we need to take a more balanced and holistic approach than what the Bush doctrine promotes.

The old saying that "if your only tool is a hammer, everything looks like a nail" describes this situation in a nutshell. Instead we should promote a policy that relies on the "DIME" approach (Diplomacy, Information, Military, Economic). Neo-conservatives try to paint the Dems (and Obama) as weak because they essentially believe in a DIME approach. This is simply yet another attempt by the neo-cons to twist the facts, without actually trying to understand another point of view.

Excellent post. :thumbs::yes:

The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. It was passed in 1799 and last amended in 1994. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years.

Nowhere posts the same message over and over again. He gets his KoolAid wholesale.

KoolAid guy and Obama have something in common. They both are cool and refreshing but if you drink in too much of what they're selling it will make you sick. In addition, like KoolAid guy, Obama bursts through a wall everytime is name is mentioned. I now have a restraining order against both of those creepy smiling weirdos.

:rofl: Yup same ole ####### from a Neo-con... no actual facts to support his position & an absolute refusal to find the truth. It has been proven (by independent sources) that the intel was #######... it is generally accepted (even amongst many Republicans) that Bush & Dumsfeld failed miserably with the execution of the war from 2003-2007 (regardless of whether you agree it was a good idea to invade Iraq or not)... finally Bush & Cheney have on numerous occasions questioned the Dems loyalty because they didn't support his failed policies. As a 21 year military veteran with tours in Bosnia & Iraq I can tell you that patriotism is loving your country & doing something positive to make it better.... it is NOT blindly accepting the current administration's policies and going along with the status quo.

So everything I said was 100% true... you offered no rebuttal all. All I can say is :wow:
