Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to share the great news with everyone.. I am finally a Dual Citizen

My Oath Ceremony was 2 days ago in Fenway Park. I decided to take the day off and take the train in since it would be a big hassle finding parking.

I dont know how the other cities are doing this.. but here in Boston they had you come in in 3 groups.

I was part of the first group with the red invitation letter that came in at 10 am. Blue comes in at 11 am and white at 12 pm.

This was the FIRST time in history that the oath was in Fenway Park.. so it was kinda a big thing.. There were so so many people there.. 3033 people from 140 countries.

Check in process went fine i took my seat - yes my FIRST time ever in Fenway Park.. LOL .. then it was time for the other 3032 people to be seated. OMG I was loosing my mind. It took 3 hours for all this people to be seated... it started to be a bit of caos in there... People did not want to sit anymore... they got up.. walked around.. including me.. haha.. could not find my seat... because I got lost. Which was an issue. red has to sit with red, blue with blue and white with white.

3 hours later the Ceremony started... It was very nice... I am sure some of you know the process... they sing their songs... raise the flags. The judge ofcourse was there to swear us in. Major Manino was there to give his speech... and a bunch of other people.

Finally it was over at about 3... No the Fun all beginns... 3033 people jumping out of their seats to get their certificate and run out of Fenway Park. LOL. OMG.. it was funny. But I was out of there by 3:30.

Overall it was an amazing day... but I think it was to many people at one time.

I want to thank all of you on this board. I feel like I made some new friends here and without you guys I dont think I would have been where I am am today  Thank you Thank you Thank you

Have a great day everyone and please stay in touch

Anja :star:

Sorry guys could not figure out how to get my picture in there.. LOL

Ha, we were beginning to think you were still in the park. What, no beer or hotdogs? Wife did get her passport in, but wondering why it takes longer to get her certificate back. Do they send that to the Treasury department to make sure it's not a forgery? But if they do that, why would they issue the passport?

Thought 39 people at her oath ceremony was to much, 3033 is incomprehensible. Wife was asking about our National Anthem, it's poetic and set to a middle age English pub tune. With all the famous song writers in this country, you would think we could do better than that. And instead of saying pledge to a piece of clothe, why not say a pledge to this country? And is it a flag or a banner, and if it is a banner, who spangled it?

Did you bring any immigration documents you may have?

What about your reentry permit or refugee papers?

Aren't you glad it's finally over?

I was looking for the beerstand but did not see one. Well I guess its better they did not had one or I would have gotten tanked. The people who were sitting next to me and behind me were totally funny... I think they could not wait for it to be over... since it was so long.

I did not bring any immigration papers at all. Just my greencard - its was funny they asked you to throw it in a bucket.. with about 3032 others. Can you imagine. It sure was a weird feeling.

Hmm my reentry permit or refugee papers.. Hmm I dont think that applies to me... or am I a Refugee ?

I will go and apply for my passport tomorrow. How come your wife did not get the certificate back ? That would make me a bit nervous ?

Yesss, I am soooo glad its almost over. It did take me a long time and I should have started it way earlier.

As of 30 seconds ago:

U.S. Passport Application Status

Your passport application was not found. It is possible your application has not made it into our system yet.

Our postman is a good guy, made a special trip over to our home to hand deliver her passport, before noon. There is a tracking number on the envelop, but the DOS can't take the trouble to e-mail that.

But our postman can't deal with the rest of the post office, ordered an inexpensive thing for my wife, received the tracking number a few seconds later, last Tuesday was in Milwaukee, should have been here Wednesday, Thursday it was reported as being misrouted, today, it's back in Milwaukee. But at least I know what's going on with it, with the DOS and USCIS, you never know what's going on, and you can't say they don't charge enough. Lots and lots of time and money, just for a thin piece of paper.
