Hi!

I have always taken UK travel insurance with me to America...

Would travel insurance even be valid on a K1 visa? If it is valid, then would it be valid once we are married? When can I change to my husband's work insurance... after marriage or when I am a resident? what did everyone else do?

thanks!

Travel isurance will not work for a K1 visa holder, since you won't actually be on vacation. You need to find Immigration Insurance. This can be purchased through various insurers. The one my husband bought, you could buy in monthly increments.

Once you are married you're husband should be able to add you on to his health plan pretty quickly. We got married in Feb, and my policy allowed my husband to be added as of March 1st.
