Since there is the possibility that in a VP capacity she could very well be making political appointments...

The VP doesn't make appointments but acts as an agent of the president. VPs do other things but not appointments.

"The Vice President of the United States[1] is the first person in the presidential line of succession, becoming the new President of the United States upon the death, resignation, or removal of the president. Every presidential term ends on January 20 of the year immediately after a presidential election. As designated by the Constitution of the United States, the vice president also serves as the President of the Senate, and may break tie votes in that chamber.[2] He or she may be assigned additional duties by the president but, as the Constitution assigns no executive powers to the vice president, in performing such duties he or she acts only as an agent of the president."

Yes - I know that - but as second fiddle to 72 year old President she could well be in that position if McCain were to be incapacitated.

I mean... would you want an Assistant bank manager with a history of putting his hand in the till being left to manage your money?

It has yet to be seen how Democrats would handle this sort of thing. I have my doubts as to whether or not they'd do it differently. However, it is what it is right now, and this sort of behavior is entirely contrary to checks and balances. This is all perpetuated by both the stupidity of the masses and a large population of apathetic people.

In a post-Cheney era you can throw out the Constitution. Bush has never read that paragraph; Cheney has, and has chosen to ignore it.

I just gave the constitutional duties but VPs have, by custom, done more. Which provisions of the Constitution were ignored? I must have missed that news.

The post-Cheney era may be Obama/Biden so we can dispense with the Consitution?

Bush never read it, because Bill Clinton stole the White House copy and shredded it.
