Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple of questions regarding my n-400 application. I am applying based on the 3/3/3 rule. My three years perm Residency is due January 12th 2009 so i am applying October 14th 2008.

I am confused about a couple of a the questions.

In part 7. Time outside the United States - A How many total days did you spend outside of the united states during the past 5 years?

well I have only been living in the usa since 2005 when i got married, (3 years). In 2003 and 2004 i worked in a summer camp over here where i met my husband, but i was still living in Australia. I am sorry i am just confused by this a little bit i hope i am making sense. In this 5 year question, i will have been living outside of the USA for two of those years because i wasnt a resident yet and i am applying based on the 3/3/3 rule. So do i just add up all the days i was still living in australia which would prob be like 500 days? Does that make sense????

Also part B of the question says how many trips of 24 hours have you taken outside of the united states during the last five years.

How do i answer this question when my application is based on the 3/3/3 rule, when again in the first two years of this 5 year period i was living in Australia.

Thank you so much for any help you may have to offer me

A lot of people just stripe "5(five)" and write "3(three)" instead.

Then record last 3 years info since it is based on 3 years residency condition.

Probably USCIS will not look at the info until they bring it to first interview.

So they will ask for the info, and usually they will be fine with that.

you know what? i actually sat down and printed a calendar of the years 2003 and 2004, and counted all the days i was out of the US prior to my relocation here. then i wrote a paragraph on a separate sheet of paper explaining that since i arrived in the US on october 2004 i haven't left the country. i guess that worked because i am now a citizen. they didn't even ask me anything about it. i remember it being a total of more than 600 days.

Lord blessed be Your name!
