I just find the whole thing ridiculous. MENA is always going to get singled out even though there are other countries with the sames issues. Funny how that will never get brought up. It's just one of those things I've learned to deal with and I just have to consider the source it's coming from.

To all you gals that have your precious babies.....SHOW THEM OFF! I'd do anything to be able to show my baby off right now.

i don't think it's a "bawllzz" issue of not being able to say it here, but rather a TOS issue. it's not that people don't want to say things here, they just don't want to get suspended.

I believe that to a point. However, some of the stuff could have been posted here minus the F's and S's and all :) I've seen people post when they disagree. But at the same time....can't we all just get along? I think its been said before...its the kind of stuff that happens on a playground. I'm all for some fun humor (even some off color done without mean intentions) but not when we take personal stabs at people or groups of people it takes a different turn for me.

I think what we have is a 2 different situations. First off these guys over there are known for insulting each other all in good fun. They have similar personalities so it works for them. The MENA is now, and always will be a target. Some are just having some lighthearted fun, and yes, some are seriously dissing MENA.

The other problem is that not all people can handle being the butt of someones jokes. It would be nice if the expat group could stick with ribbing only the ones that don't get insulted, but it probably won't ever happen. My suggestion is to take it with a grain of salt. There is a lot of stereotyping going on there, and it is that stereotyping that they are having fun with. Not all really seriously mean what they said. Yes there are those that are sincere in their insults. Just don't bother with them, they have their own personal issues, and already live in a miserable world.

But I did have issues with the babies thing. That one was over the edge, and that is where I think some owe an apology.

{{morocco4ever}} (F) I agree! And if people know me well, then they'd know I do NOT mind being part of a sarcastic or playful joke or two. :) Matter of fact that is part of my personality to be playful like that. Amal and Charles are great at that type of humor with a play on words etc and I can't get enough of it! (F)

I think I was more offended w/ the baby comment (not about forwards in emails but the one of sick of the talk and ugly babies) and maybe they didn't mean my children specifically but it still hurt. And then when I read the comment about Ash and insulting her physically....I got pissed. I hate people who hide like cowards. Many of the MENA members there do not hide their identities (So I'm not talking about them) I'm referring to the one hiding. Say it to my face...and I'd LOVE to see what that person looks like...most likely like a PUMPKIN themselves.

I also agree with what Jen had posted earlier about trying to bring up topics that are on peoples minds so that it can be discussed openly and honestly by those that experience that prejudice thinking in their own lives. I'm sure all of us have had that happen to us in our lives with our own spouses no matter how accepting our family or friends are of our MENA relationships. Who better to prove them all wrong but us, right?

I also do not wear rose colored glasses and know that where there is a group of peeps...there are always the angry ones, the happy ones, the crazy ones, etc. So we are always going to have these types of flare ups (I hear a Charles joke coming) But I think thats what makes MENA so colorful, fun and loving. The majority of us enjoy each other in all our craziness and that I believe is what I have learned.

Can't wiin 'em all! (F)

Pretty much a group, I have read some of their threads that they insult each other relentlessly, and they eat it up. Obviously they are having fun, and thats cool with me. You can see the same group in OT on VJ, but they tone it down.

Whoa wait a minute. I am not sure if you misread my post, or if I explained it wrong. Please elaborate.

T-loves-A (hey that is kind of catchy) your sweet to try to lighten things up here. As far as Len and Bren and I, well hey we are peeps, and I think something was misunderstood, thats all. I just want to make sure no one misunderstands what I said. It is so hard to catch the meaning behind what is said when it is typed words. I tend to be a bit sarcastic, but it could come across mean, so I need to be careful.

You know I just had a wild hair the other day and decided to dye my hair auburn. A few people (that I know well) has mentioned that I now take on a ####### status. I thank them profusely and admit that was my goal. Of course we are all teasing, but when typed it could sound really harsh.

Thanks girly! Well, Im just going to share my thoughts for the day. I know alot is going on with words and alot of things on peoples minds. Everyone has an opinion and everyone is going to say something about a situation, its natural bcz we are humans... but sometimes when my mind starts thinking ... what I sit back and think about is this... when my life is over with on earth, how did I live my life? Did I love my neighbor or others as myself, did I help make a difference in someone elses life? Did I go farther than that and love, bless and even pray for my enemies? Thats what I want to do before life on earth is over for me bcz those are things in this earth to be treasured. I dont want to hate my enemies or even curse them... this is not about how anyone else feels in this matter, this is how I try to live my life. There is things in life I dont agree with, there are religions i dont agree with, there are family members I dont agree with, but... I still am required, to love pray for and bless anyone and everyone in my path. Its not easy, I do have a mouth on me, but I try really hard to do those things that I talked about. Im not perfect bcz none of us are, but theres nothing wrong with trying to live in words and actions the things that make a difference to others. and by the way, we have enough hate in this world... lets not add to it...
