Hey guys. Checked the mail this morning expecting only more bills and/or, well, more bills, and found a letter from the USCIS. "The" letter from the USCIS. My AOS interview is set for July 25th in the Des Moines office! That's just about spot on 4 months since we submitted the application, and was a super huge surprise because the listed 'currently processing' date for Des Moines is back in September, 2005.

We love the Des Moines office. (L)

So I have a lot of reading, organising, and fretting to do, but I'm sure I'll be in here with questions. Especially since I was planning on making a surprise trip back to Australia pretty much on July 25th to be at the birth of my second niece/nephew.

Sept 29 - green card arrives, done until June 2008 day 140-total days 381

March 9 - Removal of Conditions approved! total days 1277

Hi there,

I see that you also applied for AP along with EAD. Is that Advance Parole? If so, could you please tell me why did you apply for Advance Parole? I am asking because my wife just had her biometrics taken for her I-485 and she is here in US on a K-3 visa. She's planning to go to Canada to attend her brother's wedding. Would she require to have Advance Parole? Your reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

K3 does not need Advanced Parole to travel, its multiple entry valid 2 years. K1s need it if they want to travel before they get their green card.

Congrats Becky on the timely AOS interview. If they were all that quick! :thumbs:

Matrix, I believe Reba answered your question, which is a good thing because I don't know the details of a K-3 visa. :D I hope your brother-in-law has a beautiful wedding!

As an aside, does anyone happen to know if the Des Moines office puts the stamp in passports of approved AOS applicants? I've done some reading and haven't really found an answer.
