Good evening and merry meet!!

At the end of August my Dad passed his interview at the Embassy in London, got the IR-5 visa in his passport and is currently making plans to move here. He is pricing October flights to the US and was planning on purchasing a one-way ticket. Would this lead to any problems upon arrive at the Immigration Post at whatever airport he happens to land at? Should he be in possession of a return ticket?

And upon arrival, what steps should he take to obtain a green card?

Thank you for any assistance, and good luck to you all on your journey!!

True friendship is like pissing your pants.

Everyone sees it and everyone knows it,

But only you can feel it's true warmth

Despite what any nation may say about the United States, immigration is the sincerest form of flattery.

I visa is an immigrant visa w/c mean you intend to live in the US. So,one way ticket is perfect.

Since your father already received his visa a one-way ticket is fine. Immigration already knows that he plans to stay in the US anyway.

Once he enters, it can take the USCIS about 2-7 weeks to enter his info in the system. Once it's there, he will get his green card in the mail.
