Hello All!

I am very grateful to come across this forum. My wife filed for her N-400. Priority date was Mar. 18,2008. On April 15th, she was already been Fingerprinted. On August 21st, 2008, She recieved her IL or interview letter notifying her to appear on Monday, October 20th, 2008. We were so happy

until on Sept. 12th, 2008 just recently, we have recieved a letter saying ''Interview Descheduled by USCIS'' :( We were heart broken bec we really want to get over this and also she has a petition currently being processed for her minor child overseas by NVC. we have already submitted I-864 for the childs' Affidavit of Support. Anyways, we are worried bec I have researched on this forum and in yahoo answers that there are a lot of people out there who have also come across this problem. Few of the have already filed for mandamus action against USCIS bec their application was pending for abt 4 years!!!!. We're not sure if this was caused by the FBI name check or maybe it just simply will be rescheduled. My wife never had any criminal convictions or whatsoever. If she has, they would have never granted her Green Card in the first place. What confuses us is there are folks out there who had this problem but the nx two weeks they were again sent a letter of invitation for their interview after recieving that ''descheduled letter''.

Are there any of you here have this problem? Please give us some kind of advice, assurance or at least share some relevant stories. Thank you guys.

You have to call to USCIS to find out why.

Some cases were reported for rescheduling because USCIS changed their location to other office/building.

You can not hold the breath until you have oath ceremony and have "certificate of naturalization" in your hands. :crying:

Yes, unfortunately, a lot of people who are going through the new Durham office received de-scheduling letters. One of the reasons cited was the lack of personnel. I guess they scheduled more than what they thought they could handle.

Hopefully, the Durham DO will get its act together soon. It is a new office and they probably have a lot of new employees that are still in training.

USCIS never told her why it only has few sentences saying ''due to unforeseen cicumstances we will have to cancel your appointment'' bla bla... she got her GC on APR. 2003.
