Hey guys!

I see a lot of people over here from the K1 thread for March/April filers!

Congratulations to everybody and lets hope the rest of this journey passes without too many difficulties.

We filed AOS at the end of September, already got an RFE and tried to solve the problem...

Hopefully this time they are going to accept it, since they are basically asking for forms we don`t have...

Dual citizenship and taxes...it can be a pretty difficult combination!

Anyways, that`s just a little venting, but I wish verybody a happy journey

and enjoy being with your partner again,

Dutti

Hey everyone!

We have been married for exactly one week and it still feels great! ;)

We have sent the AOS paperwork in the mail today which makes us officially October filers! :)

Looks like we are regrouping over here! I am glad to see DUTTI and PANDORA join in!

Congrats JOHN HALL for getting married!

I am wishing speedy processing for everyone. This whole AOS thing is a piece of cake now. Although i am sure there will be bumps and frustrations on the road it is so much easier than waiting for the initial petition to be approved.

nick-nich - guess i should of got off my lazy ### and posted on thursady (hehehehe) then we would of been on the same time line again :D

That's so cool that we are on the same schedule again. I took ours to the post office 5 minutes before they closed on Thursday so it probably didn't go out that day anyway. I checked the tracking and it was delivered, but no NOA yet.

I don't have a clue what they RFE for on AOS. What forms did they want? Just wondering if we are missing things too.

It's great to see you again Dutti. I've been wondering how it was going for you.

Hi Just another quick question. Sorry.

I am right in thinking I have to complete the biometric forms for my 5 year old son also?

Do I sign the forms for him or leave blank. It doesn't mention this in the example forms.?

Thanks

Maybe Pandora can answer that question. We don't have a child immigrating so not sure about that one. I would think a mother could sign for a young child.

Congratulations everybody on getting to this point. The paperwork sucks, but it's alot more comfortable this round. I guess just being together finally and being married makes it less stressful than the wait for the visa.

Hey there Nick-Nich!

Nice to see you again too! ( and all the others too of course)

Well we got an RFE for the affidavit for tax related papers (they keep on asking for w2s, but since my husband also worked in Belgium the entire last year for a foreign company, USCIS still needs some more time to realize that not everybody on the planet uses the same papers! )

So, probably nothing for you to worry about, it`s just a RFE that`s really linked to our particular case.

Hope you had a wonderful wedding day and that we all have that final approval in the mail soon!

Good morning. Well it's a new week full of anticipation. Maybe the Social Security card will come. Maybe a NOA 1 will come or at least the check cashed. From tracking, I know the packet arrived at the Chicago lockbox at 1:00 in the morning last Monday, which was a federal holiday.

What are you K1 guys doing about the medical info? We just sent in the vacination supplement DS-3025 from the medical and did not get it transcribed by a civil surgeon onto the I-693. I think we are tired of chasing bureaucratic paper trails, so are just taking our chances for now. POE, marriage, and AOS all happened in such a short time, that we were drained. I'm pretty sure Nick will probably have to go get that TB skin test that has recently come up because his medical fell in the time slot where they say it's required, but yet the doctor in London did not administer it or even mention it. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

So we will deal with that after we get the RFE. We just happened to be caught in the middle of the changeover. Had the medical been just a week earlier, all would be fine.

Hey evebody!!! I got this post late thanks for me not paying attention and jumping on some of the messages =) soooo Alena there is no way Jeff is going to dance forro by the way!! hahah

we wont do the dance on the wedding, is going to be really simple a few 15 friends at 11am on the nov 15 =) as MA is already below the 40s is going to be inside in a cute place. Just the justice of the peace and we will have lunch there and after that evebody will come home to play rock band or whatever game we feel like playing. so is going to be fun.

For now no AOS I actually looked at the forms but havent done anything yet. But I really want to send as soon as I get my marriage certificate. So tired of not working. And for talking about it I got the crapiest temporary job in a retail store so I can use my temporary employment permission. At least will help me to spend time faster because I am going crazy!!

That is pretty much it. Big hug to evebody!! Good luck!

Hey guys!

how is everybody today!

i just got up...at noon...for the second time today. We drove from Baltimore this morning at 4 am and as soon as we got home i went back to bed and my hubby to work :) I am spoiled :)

Spent the weekend with Lee's family and it was very nice. I envy his family a little bit for being so close and so united just because i am so far from my family... But at the same time i am very happy because i now there are people that care around us and now his family is my family :) I have been worried sick about what they would feel about me coming from a different country and the age difference and all, but i guess all this was only in my rested mind that doesn't have anything better to do than make up stuff that's not there. I have to much time on my hands...lol

My temporary work permit expired today...and i have not used it at all.. I hope it is not too much longer before i get the EAD. Luckly i won't even need it right away, as i will start doing some training in the hotel business very soon. And i do not think i will be on the payroll anyway... :P

By the time i get the EAD hopefully i will have a better idea about what i want to do...whether continue with hotels or go a different direction.

ANA i am glad you are being part of this thread! I undersand your wish to do something and not go crazy at home. I have days like that also. But fortunately i have been doing stuff now and then, helping Lee at work.

NICH i was about to bring up the question about the medical paperwork so i am glad you did it.

I actually did go to a civil surgeon, 2 civil surgeons to be more accurate and all i can tell you is that the whole think was a nerve consuming waste of time! I wish i never went!

I made an appointment with a doctor in downtown Baltimore. The place was scary! One of those walk in medical centers where they also do testing for substance abuse and you could tell they would do anything to get more money. I am really happy i did not get stung with a needle in that place. They wouldn't so the TB skin test or transcribe my vaccination record unless i had the whole medical exam redone. I said no thank you.

I called another civil surgeon office and got an appt. right away. This was a pediatrician and the place looked decent and everybody was much nicer. I explained to the doctor what i needed and he said he can't help me unless i have written proof from USCIS that they require the TB test. And he advised me to wait until they ask for it. After a loooooong conversation i convinced him to at least transcribe my vaccination record. And they did it for $75. But i guess at this point it doesn't really matter... Since i will most likely need to go back to him after RFE. Not to mention that we waited almost 4 hours for them to fill out the form and stick it in a n envelope! And i don't think i have seen more than 4 patients in his office the whole time!

As i said.... I wish i had waited, but it is what it is...

So NICH, i think you guys made the right thing just to send everything as you have it. Civil suregeons had no ideea what i was talking about, and i even had printed stuff from the USCIS website with me...

Hope everybody had a nice Tuesday!

Good morning. I have a little progress to report. The AOS check cleared the bank Monday and Nick's Social Security card came Tuesday. It's always reassuring to see something happen.

It's good to hear from Ana and Alina. I think Nick is bored too. But he's been doing some great house cleaning. Lucky me. We're taking a class at our community college on Wednesdays. It's just a fun thing, not for credit, that they do each fall. One of our morning coffee friends is teaching Texas history, so 7 or 8 of us signed up. He's one of those people who should be doing speaking engagements because he tells a good tale and is funny too. Texas History is new to Nick, so it's a fun way for him to get a little background of his new home.

Hi all

Just putting together the AOS, AP, and EAD package. DEEP JOY.. more paperwork!!! At least my cat (Ozymandias) is enjoying it as he just loves to shred documents as they roll off the printer. I , like Nick, am not bothering with the transcription of vaccination records and hoping that the Worksheet (DS 3025) that I was given at the medical will get me through.. I am exempt from most vaccination requirements due to my great age :crying:

Otherwise we are copying everything involved with AOS to the AP and EAD applications on the assumption that they will be treated as stand-alone applications and rather too much info than too little and then hopefully we can avoid RFE's this way.

Cheers

We also took the risk with the vaccination records and sent the worksheet ( I already had all the necessary vaccinations).

But they do like to send RFE`s...that`s something we already experienced.

I just had my biometrics appointment and I must say, this went without any problems.

No line, no waiting and was on my home after about 15 minutes...

If only everything in this process went as easily...

Take care everybody,

Nick also had completed all vaccination requirements in the UK. But the problem we will probably run into is his medical was after June 1 (by only a few days. DARN!) and he was not given a TB skin test, only the chest x-ray, in London. There's always something to trip you up, isn't there?

Q: When did the new TB requirements become effective?

The new TB testing and treatment requirements became effective on May 1, 2008. However, CDC allowed a 30 day grace period. Therefore, any medical exam that takes place on or after June 1, 2008 must be performed in accordance with the new TB testing requirements.

Q: Will USCIS accept Form I-693 if the civil surgeon performed a chest x-ray without the TST?

No, the civil surgeon must administer the TST, unless one of the exceptions listed in the Technical Instructions applies. If the civil surgeon performs a chest x-ray without giving the applicant the TST, the reason for omitting the TST must be noted on Form I-693.

Above comes from this document http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/FAQ_TB_...ents_072408.pdf
