Does anyone know if when an infopass appointment is made using a reciept # or A#. Is it automaticly make the nessesary appointment? I made an appt. but it was not specific on the site that I was making a biometrics appt.

Any info would be helpful.

Why are you making a biometrics appointment?

Biometrics is assigned by the NBC and is performed at an Application Support Center not the USCIS local office where Infopass appointments are held...

Right - the infopass appointment is NOT a biometrics appointment. You don't get to choose when to make a biometrics appointment - they do. They will send you a notification in the mail telling you the time, date and location of your ASC Biometrics appointment. The Infopass appointments are held in different locations and are meetings with immigration officials who can help you out with specific questions or problems. If you have been waiting for a long time to get a biometrics appointment you can certainly ask at an Infopass appointment about why it is delayed. They are likely just to tell you to wait, though, although they could check and see if a biometrics appointment letter has been mailed to you and you haven't received it. They use your A# to look up information on your file.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

We didn't receive a biometrics appointment after 4 months. A second tier customer service rep at uscis told me to make an infopass. And then the biometrics would be given. It sounds like I should find out more by calling the # given for our local office???

Close... The Infopass appointment may determine the status of your case. the best you can hope for is that the shake something loose ... but they cannot and do not do biometrics at the local office...

An infopass appointment is usually made so the applicant can go in person to find out what is going on with their case or status. The USCIS employee will then try to help them get the info they need but they do not make things happen.

A biometrics appointment is made at the place where fingerprints are taken and that's it. In Denver for example these two things take place in two totally different offices and have nothing to do with one another.
