Filed: Other Timeline

Hi Prince1978,

Likewise, I was in a similar situation before too, as I came over to visit my boyfriend (now husband), on a tourist (B2) visa from Canada, and then ended up getting married here in the USA. And yes, I did get approved and got my green card afterwards. For more information on my sitation, see my VJ timeline (the link can be found on my signature).

In my opinion, I don't think it would delay your application if your submitted your I-693 late. In fact, they don't even open the medical results envelope until the day of your interview (at least that's what they did in my situation two years ago, even though we submitted it beforehand with the otehr paperwork), so you have until then to the submit it. Meanwhile, you should get that medical done as soon as possible, make sure the results are in a sealed envelope, keep a copy of the results if you do get a copy of it, and hang onto the sealed envelope to give during the interview. You can try mailing it earlier though, if you get it done before then. But with medical results, you really don't want those getting lost in the mail if you send it in separately from your other forms, and it's better off if you give it to them directly.

If you're unsure about this, you can always call the USCIS phone # and ask them if they do require the medical results before the interview.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your immigration journey.

Ant (Visited, Married, Happily living in the USA...)

P.S. :time:, as that would help too.

I would do NOTHING right now. Wait until you receive an RFE, then respond to it quickly. If you send something in now, there's no guarantee that it will end up in your file. You may (and probably would) receive an RFE anyway, so why bother. If you had read the instructions or followed the guides, you wouldn't have a problem.

I suggest you do the medical now, but don't send the results in. Have it ready to submit when you receive the RFE, this will minimize your delay.
