Approval Notice

Hi all, I received a letter from USCIS. It says "Congratulation! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved..." and so on. I think it is an approval notice. But I have seen a someone's approval notice before, it looked like a Notice of Action and it was very official paper. But my approval notice doesn't have any stamps, treadmark of USCIS (or Department of Homeland Security). Just white wrinkly paper, and it looks very weird that this notice is from Chicago. I sent our I-751 to VSC. There is a sticker of acting center directer on it. I hope it is official approval notice, but I'm very confused now. Any advice, information and suggestion are highly appreciated.

Hi there,

If you sent your package out to Vermont, then when did you send it? Sorry but I don't see a time line. I have never known USCIS to send a white paper before, however maybe others can give you some more clarification. You may want to call them and check your status online.

Uruma, Please write your time line. There are a lot of people waiting to get approved from VT. If you gave your time line the others can compare with their timing.

Our notice just says, "Current Status: Approval notice sent." There is no congratulations just notification that on September 16, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this CRI89 Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received.

I wonder if the service centers use different letters since ours is from CSC.

Ok Uruma the suspense is killing us, some of us poor souls have been waiting ages to hear anything from VSC!!! At least let us know when you sent in your application!!!!

By the way, since you're also at the VSC, you can add your name and information to the following message thread list: "VSC I-751 Status List" (look for the last updated list on the last page), so you can see and track your progress too, compared to other VJers on the same long-waiting boat: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=110056

P.S. As for your odd-looking approval notice, I would honestly phone the USCIS about this, as you never know, it could be a fraud letter. If not, at least you can be rest assured officially that it's not. As well, you can check your status online at www.uscis.gov, to check too, to see if there have been updates on your case there saying that you were approved.
