Hi Evian, welcome to the club of the still waiting June filers :), some of us with an extra RFE :)

Natan, you're right, the timeline also changed and I'm not out anymore- what great news :rofl:

Oana, another wedding in July :thumbs: Mine is at the beginning of the month.

Panterchen visa issues? hmmm, when I first went to the States last year I wrote on the papers, that you have to fill in, my cousin's address (as the address where you can be found during your stay). The second time (3 months later) I put my baby's address, they pulled me aside just to ask me why I was coming back so soon :) ( why hadn't I stayed longer the first time-as if I didn't have a job, if it was not too expensive to take several trips to the States - well, what can I say, I can afford it :) ,etc ) One of the questions was if I was staying at the same address. At that time I didn't want to admit the owner of the second address I used was my baby, being afraid not to be seen as a potential emigrant.....They put a leave-by date of 6 months in my passport (which is the maximum) and that was it. I hope this will not affect my present visa but who knows....

I don't think it takes longer because of a previous visa, honestly.

Plus she said that we already got assigned to an officer Nov 13 which is around the same time other June filers with around the same date as us got approved. So until there we were totally on time. Maybe our officer now just enjoyed a niiiice vacation for thanksgiving. That's my guess. They cannot have found anything significant otherwise we wouldn't be assigned yet I believe.

Any other suggestions otherwise?

Kiwie I think you will hear something soon. USCIS just seems to have a lot of back log plus people going on vacation and getting sick...

I think what keeps us so long is the security check, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

What else could they do and how long vacation can they take (I must admit the idea of a vacation also crossed my mind, a month ago :)

I mailed mine to my fiance. He then will mail it along with his other paperwork required to from the packet three to the consulate. However the process seems to vary from consulate to consulate, but I'm reasonably sure the beneficiary submits it in all cases. Check with your countries consulate to be sure.

btw that was a pricey doc to mail! $61.00 USD and it took a week to get there!

You can do it online easily visa the USCIS web page I think. You can schedule an appointment for just a few days in advance at your local USCIS office. Just bring your NOA1 if you already have one.

Ok, so he did that. he scheduled an appointment for Dec 15. Hope that by then we will get our NOA2. If not, then we will be very close to 6 months, so he can also mention that.

:thumbs: have a groovy day!

Good. Good luck for that appointment but I hope you'll hear something before then.

Concerning the visa issues...I don't know. I think the lady ment maybe if I ever got denied a visa or anything. No, I got my J1 without problems in 2001 and stayed 3 months in 2004 again with my host family. As far as I know I didn't overstay either. :devil:

Oh Kiwie, this might be important for you. The lady also said that sometimes cases take longer because they combine your files of a previous visa with your current petition so that everything stays together. She said that they order those files from some place else so that it delays things a little back. However, when Dan mentioned that my J1 is from 2001 she said that that was too long ago and shouldn't result in combining files.

That's interesting and does make sense, I guess. Or at least it gives me a good reason why it's taking longer. But really I thought because of that it would even go quicker. Oh well, I guess we learn something new every day :lol:

Thanks for the information though!

I really hope that you'll hear something very very soon!!!!!

ok. let's say that i buy that with if I went to US previously it will gonna take longer for me to get the NOA2, but the thing is that i got an RFE on november 12 for just a simple empty box in which my fiancee should have write NONE, so she wrote NONE right away and sent it back while she was still at the post office...and they annouced us 8 days later they received the RFE...so since november 20 till now there are more than 2 weeks...on visajourney the lawayers here say that it should take us no more than 10 days to get NOA2...i think they are simply slow and just try and invent new excuses but such is life...God's plan is always perfect...no doubt, just sometimes is hard to look beyond what the eyes see.

In Christ alone my hope is found;

He is my light, my strength, my song;

This cornerstone, this solid ground,

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

Oh man, that sucks. I hope they find your file soon again. I think the officers just forget about the RFE cases for a while until they all of sudden pop up somewhere again...Maybe under their desk?!

I hope that won't happen to us. We haven't heard anything until now, alsmost six months into the process, if we get an RFE at this point we will be really really late...

Did you already call them again to ask whats going on? Rfe trick? Infopass? I would do it if you are in a hurry. Make a fuss so they know you are still out there waiting.

I tried-made an attempt to be naive believing in the goodness of our world and waiting very-very patiently....

But it's f****** long! It's my private/personal life!

I don't mind visas! They are good (especially for Russia haha)

But why do they like to keep two (loving-each-other) people apart for so long....
