Easiest way to avoid boredom is to marry first and skip the K-Visas and their AOS/EAD/AP headaches, and just file for an IMMIGRANT CR-1 visa.

CR-1 has the benefit of immediate green-card upon entry, allowing work and international travel.

I always found crocheting and cross stitch while watching daytime soaps to be refreshing to the soul....

YMMV

I have been here since June.

Every day I have been doing TONS of cleaning, baking, cooking, yardwork (the neighbors are ready to give me an award I'm told! lol), painting, hubby's business stuff, redecorating (not huge costly things), DE-cluttering, lol... it's enough to keep me extremely busy but I'm certainly NOT cut out for being a housewife 24/7! I miss working, getting out further than to the bank, occasionally to the mall & many times to the grocery store! I miss financial independence! My son & I were on our own for about 13 yrs so it's quite different having to rely on someone else's paycheck & not feel guilty. My hubby is too generous, probably moreso than what we can afford without me working just yet but at least we're waiting together, instead of being thousands of miles apart! Trying to keep that in mind as we can get pretty depressed with all this waiting! I've been "tweaking" my resume for certain companies & putting out lots of applications. I've written some government exams for employment too but as soon as I get that EAD, I'm off to get my SSN as soon as I fax it to EI in Canada (finally get some moola back after paying in for so many years!) then I plan to schedule an appt then next day with a temp agency. There's tons of places looking for temp people & I've done it before. You get to know alot of good people & the contacts are a help...

Good luck, shouldn't be much longer!

Thank you, i smiled all through reading yours, seeing me go through same routine, i sometimes make a mess so il have something to clean up, as for baking and the other cooking stuffs, i really only know how to cook african so maybe since i have this much spare time, bigger than i can manage i can aswell explore the internet and see if i can get cooking lessons and stop scaring my husband with all these cleaning, yesterday he told me he is practically getting scared of touching too much as they all seem neat and organised... lol, he doesn want to mess things up, say honey my comforter is too clean and i cant sleep just like it is in the advert on the tv.

Getting really tired of the routine cos all i can find to do is cook, clean, eat, go to get groceries, shopping mall, then start all over again.

Plus it really feels guilty having to depend solely on his check especially after being independent since like forever!

I can wait to be able to work even if for a few hours daily!

Get some hobbies. If you can't seem to develop any, volunteer your time to a worthy cause.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

I spend a lot of time looking out of my windows. My wife gets very worried sometime seen me doing that. Oh well. I also spend time riding around city bus aimelessly. I get free bus pass for doing volunteer work at a hospital. I also go for a walk a lot --doesn't matter what kind of neighborhood it is, I just walk around for hours.

Not necessarily - and only if you choose to regard it as such.

For us, getting the K-1 seemed pretty easy. She had it in her hand and ready to use less than 6 months after I filed the initial petition, and completed adjustment of status only 4 months after applying. She found and accepted a very good job after being here for only 5 months, and within 2 weeks of receiving her EAD.

I dunno how it could be a whole lot easier.
