Hi Guys,

I posted this about a couple of days ago but did not get any good feedback. Can you please give your opinion.

A new update is that my lawyer just sent them an email inquiry. Not sure how long before they reply.

Thanks

Hi,

I thought maybe someone can help me as I am getting extremely worried. I married my ex wife back in 2001 and later divorced after a year following constant problems and fighting. She called the cops on me one night and I was arrested for domestic violence even though I did not even touch her while she was the violent one. Anyway the charges got dismissed and we went to the first interview and I was granted conditional residence. Later we divorced and after two years (2003) I filed by myself for the removal for condition. I later hired a lawyer.

Between 2001 and 2002 I was charged with disorderly conduct twice. Once trying to break a fight and the second I pushed a bouncer who was sitting on my friend. Both charges were dismissed. I quit going out after that . In 2004 my company transferred me abroad for an assignment where I stayed for 3 and half years but kept coming back every 6 months. In 2005 I got re-married to another US citizen and we now have a daughter that was born in the US also. We moved back to the US in March of this year and finally I was called to an interview in the 15th of July in Memphis. The petition is still with my first wife, so I went with my lawyer. My ex has sent all kind of crazy letters to the immigration telling them that I just married her for a status..etc. My case is well documented as we had a big wedding where my parent came from overseas, we went to college together, we have leases, joint taxes returns, correspondence, bank accounts..etc.

During the interview the officer asked me about what happened so I explained to him the situation, he asked if I ever was arrested, I said yes and gave him all the dismissal papers, he asked if I was now married, I said yes and my new wife is a US citizen as well, he asked if we have children, I said yes , he asked for the birth certificate and I gave it to him. He then asked me when the last time I was outside the US was, I said about a couple of weeks ago and explained that I am required to travel for my work and that I was assigned internationally for few year and now we are back. He made me sign on a little cardboard paper and then asked for joint utilities with my ex which I did not have. We later sent it to him by mail thru my Lawyer along with the pictures he asked for and that was it.

It has been now exactly two months since the interview and still have not heard back from them. The case status in the website just gives me an error and I am afraid to travel outside the US in case it gets denied and I would be separated from my family. My job requires me to travel but I have been finding excuses not to and it really starting to heat up.

So here I am in constant worry and might lose my job. What do you guys think and does it take this long to get an answer after the interview? I have been in this journey for 7 years now.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think in a situation like yours most likey it will take time. My question is did the one interviewed you let you know that you were approved or not? What was that little cardboard you signed in? Have you called USCIS regarding your status?

I suggest you better call USCIS as much as could.

BTW where did you apply?
