Quick question

I'm from washington and I submitted my AOS applications in Chicago IL., Now my applications are both pending in national benefit center. My question is Where is the national benefit center located? Where will they process my application. Because I'm near Seattle so I'm wondering they will process my application in Seattle and will interviewed there and there is no way that my case will be transferred to csc? I aldo did my biometrics there in Seattle

Because I heard., they are slow in Seattle., Too bad I'm near Seattle., So does the processing of application work?

And why is it when I checked online., there is no processing dates for I-485?

Are there any who's near Seattle? How is the processing of applications so far?

what are the dates they are processing now?

The National Benefit Center is in Chicago, where you sent the application to.

They do the initial processing of an I-485, and then forward it to the Local Office which has jurisdiction over the area in which you live. In your case it will be the Seattle Office. The NBC may send the case to CSC rather than a Local Office. If this happens then the CSC will process the application. If an interview is required then CSC will send the application to the Local Office for them to schedule an interview, but by all accounts on this forum people who have their case transferred to CSC rather than their Local Office are adjudicated without interview.

If an interview is required, it will be done at your Local Office. You won't be asked to travel to CSC.

Because it's the Local Office that does the processing and adjudication on I-485 applications (unless they are transferred to CSC) the processing times can be found on the page for the Local Office rather than a Service Center of the NBC. They are interviewing January 2008 AOS filers now in Seattle.

The processing times are interesting - are they accurate..

for example, if Seattle is currently interviewing 2008 Filers, does that mean that someone who filed in March definitely has not had their application processed, or is it just the very oldest that they are processing now?

that is not accurate. Some april filers have been interviewed last october and some january filers will just have their interview this month. It's a game of luck I may say. Timelines are just estimations when you're case can be done!

you are right, Seattle is real slow.

I have read about other people in other parts of the country who get their AOS within 4-5 months. I submitted our paperwork back in Dec 07, got biometrics done in Feb 08 and have just now gotten an interview request for Oct. It will have taken me almost 11 months to get the AOS.

Gosh I wish I were somewhere else in the US so I won't have to wait almost a year for greencard. I will have to postpone my education for almost two full year...nag nag nag nag nag

We filed in Seattle in May and had our interview 3 months later. I think it really is just luck on how quickly you are processed. My husband also has an unusual name so we didn't get caught up in name checks.
