Its interesting to me - because as an outsider with absolutely no investment in the political process here - I don't really have heroes on either the political left or the right in this country, but I do recognise the broad sweep of political ideology for what it is (across the board further to the right than the UK), and I don't go out of my way to make silly generalizations to demonise the other side.

I certainly *could* do that - but I rather think it would reflect back on me. And not in a good way.

I'm left on a number of issues certainly, but I'm not so insecure in my beliefs that I have to generalize about the other side in the way that you do. All it shows is that your politics have more to do with cookie-cutter partisanship than with considered opinions on specific issues or policies.

To correctly you slightly, my objection on "the right" is largely to do with the election of George W. Bush than with the Republican Party specifically. As I said - I have no loyalty whatsoever to the Democratic party or any of its representatives.
