Ok so we've done this... sort of before, K1.. AOS and now we're back again.. removal of conditions! I've been checking through the guides and dropping in here (Removal of Conditions.. forum) from time to time over the past few months just to try and keep up to date.

I've been putting together our packet and so far we have the following:

Copies of...

  • Bills, utility, cable, rent etc. Start after AOS and end this month some are joint or the wifes name or in mine.
  • Current rent/lease agreement
  • Passport copy (mine)
  • Boarding passes from trip back home displaying our names/dates arrival etc.
  • Car titles
  • Insurance documents displaying both vehicles
  • SSN Card
  • Green Card back/front
  • FL Driver License
  • Cover letter (still work in progress)
  • of course the I-751 and the stupid fee...
  • Random pictures (not yet printed!!) covering entire time frame after AOS - present of us etc.
  • Joint bank account statements, displaying everything inc our pay cheques being deposited.
  • Letter from work stating I've been employed since 2006 till present
  • Life insurance listing wife as the beneficiary

All of the above evidence starts right after or just on AOS and are updated every 3 or 6 months right up till this month. I sure enough we've covered most of it. Do we still need copies of my wifes passport/ssn/dl/birth certificate for this packet? Other than the I-751 do I need to fill out another biometrics form and if so which one?

I'm sure if we've missed anything someone will point it out! From what I've read the TSC isn't taking applications anymore so we're sending it into VSC!

My GC expires the end of next month so I feel like we waited a bit too long to file but.. as we all know it can happen! I have my unrestricted SSN and a DL good till 2013 so I'm ok for the I-9 and to drive thank god! How long does the NOA (is it even an NOA?) take to arrive this time on average? Is there any chance of me getting it before I'm officially "expired". I know I'll be alright but just in case for work.

Hi Aidan80,

Your list of evidence for the I-751 looks good enough to submit! You definitely have a lot of relevant stuff, and more likely than not shouldn't get an RFE. Yes, you've covered pretty much everything there, both financially and personally. Just make sure all your evidence covers the entire span of your marriage and conditional residency too.

If you need more ideas, here is a list of evidence that I submitted for the I-751 a few weeks ago:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=118868&hl=

You've filed the paperwork so many times before, so you'll definitely be an expert at this stage of the immigration game. It's good too, that you are also checking the guides and dropping in this forum to keep up to date, as there is so much helpful information here on VJ, indeed.

As for copies of your wife's passport, ssn, birth certificate, driver's license, no you do not need to include those. However, I included a copy of my passport, as it showed that there was a notation about my married last name as it was in my maiden last name before. And for the driver's licenses, from what I've read here on VJ, you can photocopy yours and your wife's driver's licenses that show the same address, to show joint residency too. As for the biometrics, no extra forms are needed if you are not overseas. Just make sure to include the extra $80 in biometrics fees, along with the application fees, which you can either do in one check/money order together or in two separate checks/money orders.

For the NOA, I got mine a week after they received my application. On the NOA, it says "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one yera. During the one-year extension you are authorized for employment and travel". So when your 2yr green card expires, just show the expired green card with this extension letter for work and travel, and your expired green card is good for another year. If you don't get the NOA letter and/or it takes more than a year to process your application, then you can get an I-551 stamp in your unexpired passport which works the same way as the letter.

Likewise, I got the 5yr driver's license (which I didn't even have to do a driving test for either) and the unrestricted ssn too, so I guess we're both lucky that way, and not have to worry about that. I find it quite amusing at times though, that the 2yr green card expires before those do..lol...So does that mean I can illegally be here after my green card expires, but then be legally allowed to drive and work....(just kidding, as I'll be getting the 10yr green card hopefully soon).

Good luck on your I-751 and the rest of your immigration journey.

Ant (Still waiting at the VSC...)

P.S. By the way, since you're also at the VSC, you can add your name and information to the following message thread list: "VSC I-751 Status List" (look for the last updated list on the last page), so you can see and track your progress too, compared to other VJers on the same long-waiting boat: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=110056

Thanks to everyone for the responses!

I don't think we need a letter from our employer but I'm tossing it in anyway as it I think it looks good charter wise and it's from another government department which also helps I think charter wise but it isn't needed at all. I'm just trying to cover everything, we did during AOS and still got an RFE. Stupid RFE was they wanted a cosponsor even though my wife made more than the "minimum" at the time. By the time the AOS interview came around the interviewer didn't need the cosponsor and more or less wrote off the RFE to someone going slightly overboard somewhere.

I'm glad my wifes ssn, license and passport are not a requirement. Although thinking about it now it does show our trip back home and will backup the ticket stubs and as you said the license shows the same address. We actually already found our 2007 tax return and added it last night!

All thats left is to polish up the cover letter (thanks to the wife) and organize this into an easy to read packet then make a copy before sending it out to neverland

I will have a look at those links and add us to the VSC list!

Thanks again everyone for looking it over!

Good luck!!

We originally sent in our paperwork for our K1 back in March (I think) 2005, had the interview in September/October 2005 and ended up over here in November 2005. A year later in October 2006 we have our AOS interview and now almost 2 more years later we're here.. waiting on removal of conditions! It's like we're all stuck in the system.. maybe some of us will be sane/insane enough to apply for citizenship and break free! Although if I were female I'd not be applying. I hear they are making this so called "cervical cancer vaccine" mandatory for women applying for citizenship? Anyone else heard about this?

I know thats what I thought. I defies logic until I thought about it this way... Wouldn't this be like the payback to some of those companies that "donated" to certain politicians campaigns?.. lot of cash to be made out of mandatory "vaccine". I mean, thats just me thinking out loud here otherwise I don't see any logic behind it other than adding another expensive barrier to the immigration process?

Google "HPV Vaccine Immigration" I found this right away.. I'm sure there are plenty more out there!

Aidan, your list looks pretty good. Best wishes to you :)

Thanks! :)

Ok I now have everything on the list organized, the cover letter is done and matches the list in order. Tax returns, pictures and everything else is in there. A copy of everything has been made, originals we'll keep and we're sending it out tomorrow via USPS Delivery Confirmation.

I'm assuming it's back to waiting for a few weeks till we get the NOA then biometrics and finally we're hoping to see a message sometime after all that telling us our card is ordered. Do they interview at this stage at random or ignore people already interviewed. I'm hoping we don't have to go through another interview. We have the Orlando office as our local, do they still do biometrics in Orlando or do they send you wherever?

Hi Aidan80,

Good luck on getting your NOA soon, now that you've sent in your I-751. You should get that in the next 1-2 weeks or so, and the biometrics letter 2-3 weeks afterwards. I'm sure you must be glad that you got that sent and out of the way. Now the real waiting from the VSC begins for you...
