Plane ticket info after Visa approved-One way or round trip?

My fiance has his interview at the Consulate in London to finalize the Fiance Visa . He wants to know when booking his plane ticket to enter the US does he get a round trip ticket or a one way? I think one way because he intends to marry and stay- which he'll have permission to do via the Fiance Visa- but he thinks a round trip because he doesn't want to look presumptious to Customs.

Also- has anyone had trouble with Cutoms when they entered on the Fiance Visa????

we have not gotten that far yet but from what i have read on vj many come on one way ticket for fiance visa

Actually, have him get whatever is cheapest. He will only be using it one-way but if it is cheaper to purchase a round trip ticket he can certainly do so and then just not use the return portion. Remind him that if he passes the interview he will not be 'presumptuous' about staying - he has US immigration's permission to enter the US and to adjust status to become a permanent resident after getting married. Good luck on his interview.

Kathryn is spot on whatever is cheapest at the time and he is not a visitor anymore so that is a moot point-

one-way or return is fine.. they don't ask about the plane ticket at customs well at least I don't think so. My husband had a return ticket because it was cheaper.. he wasn't asked about it at customs and he had no problem at all going through customs.. it took about an hour but it was all just waiting. Just wandering in case it's false economy by buying a return ticket rather than 1 way ticket.

I just talked to Contenintal last week and buying round trip and not using the return trip is fine by them.

They don't care, they are making making money regardless of you flying or not. More often than not they overbook anyway.

Your fiance should buy whatever is cheaper (seems to be usually the round trip ticket).
