Wah! Wah! Wah!

I have demonstrated that a conservative female with an original thought is a threat to some of the "feminist" guys here. Someone please PM me when some brain cells gather and a worthy thought is directed to the topic.

"Pro-life feminism"

There's a crock if ever I heard one

I see. So your saying that feminism isn't about equal rights, equal pay, equal opportunity ect.. If a woman isn't pro choice then all that other stuff doesn't matter. Thanks for clearing that up.

No Gary - that's not what I'm saying.

But I am a bit bemused that you objected to that phrase, given that I was actually quoting the article.

You posted the article - I assume you read it.

I'm talking about a specific feminist movement that puts abortion rights at the center of its political agenda.

Its laughable that a woman can be both pro-life and feminist, given that the pro-life position goes totally against women's rights.

One can indeed be a pro-life feminist. Considering that there are whole societies that abort females due to a preference for males, it isn't laughable at all.

Edited because I can't type.

But those other societies are not our society.

Feminism isn't exclusive to North America. I don't see how killing babies is an immutable tenet of feminism.

Yes I know.

Pro-Life is a term I hate. It was created by people in order to demonise people who are pro-choice as anti-life. It is a very un-christian stance to cast first stones.

It certainly is emotionally loaded.

I have always understood that feminism is about equal rights of all kinds, not just reproductive rights. It's kind of like being a dem or rep. You may not agree with every plank in the platform but on the whole it still best represents your stance. If what your saying is true then the NOW should rename themselves NOLWWAPC. (national organization of liberal women who are pro choice)
