Its laughable that a woman can be both pro-life and feminist, given that the pro-life position goes totally against women's rights.

I mean - could a black person reasonably call themselves a civil rights advocate if they supported racial segregation?

lol ya, she clearly isnt a feminist...

One can indeed be a pro-life feminist. Considering that there are whole societies that abort females due to a preference for males, it isn't laughable at all.

Actually - that's total bollocks. I'm not particularly well-versed in the theory but the feminist objection to Sarah Palin would be in regards to her position on abortion (i.e. its against the self-interest of women to support something that goes against their own self-interest).

There's a famous book about it by a real left-wing feminist that I've referenced several times on here.

Feminism shouldn't based on one's position re infanticide. Nor should the terms of feminisim be left to the left wing to decide. Women have rights when they are able to share their intellect and act on their goals, be they left, right or MOR. That is true freedom.

This woman was a very small town mayor until a very short time ago. She was only picked because she was a woman. Not because of her qualifications (she has none) and therefore her position on the ticket is a cynical and sexist one. That is why I think that she does not advance the cause of equality for women.

Obama is popular because he is Black; that's the bottom line. White guilt and Afro-centricity have carried him farther than his thin resume ever would have. And, if he was qualified, but a conservative black running for the presidency, even his blackness would have not have saved him from their ire.

 Define "white guilt" if you may.And if that's the case why are people from other backgrounds supporting him as well ?

Well it isn't based solely on that - there are other issues (pornography for instance), but abortion is a perennial issue in this country - especially during election season.

Well that's why the word is Choice. Choice. Nobody in the world wants to have an abortion. I would not have one, but I support the government not getting involved in a womans choice.

You think it's complete BS coz you're a liberal and you have no more depth from which to debate with anyone who disagrees with you.

That's right I'm a liberal, and proud of it.And if that's your opinion,I'm fine with that also.If you disagree with me that's fine, this is America. And guess what ? I'm not the one getting an attitude because someone disagrees with me.

Unless it involves a man making payments to a women as a result of that choice, I'm sure.

Who in their right mind can get an attitude from "Complete BS"? Not me; it never even crossed my mind. There is no "there" there to become attitudinal over. Liberals are a dime a dozen. Nothing to get excited about.

I said I'm not, but I clearly got your goat since you were the first to raise the issue of attitude. If conservatives were a dime a dozen in your world, you would have more practice in how to discuss issues with them beyond calling views you disagree with "BS".

Conservatives and Liberals are both a dime a dozen.

The difference is that the conservatives expect you to spend your own dime and the liberals will pass a tax increase and take dimes from "the rich" so that they can redistribute them to those who can't be bothered to come up with their own dime.
