Ollie want's to take MY surname. *shakes head* modern times, geez. I won't give mine up for anything, and his family is worthy of disowning.

Our timeline: Ollie comes to the USA on June 18, our wedding is July 1st.

I know how to change his name in the UK, and get a new passport. What I don't know is how to handle things on the USA side... Do we put his new name on all the AOS paperwork? What about his SSN? the AOS interview will require evidence, so do we get all our joint credit cards and such in his New name or Old name, and will the banks be kosher with this if his k1 visa only specifies his old name? Or should we do everything in his Old name and change after the AOS interview? Is their a process for changing the name on the 'green card'?

 confused

Do everything in the 'new' name and show the marriage certificate to the bank/insurance etc. to get his new name on these. Most utilities won't even ask for the marriage certificate - SSN you have to again show them the marriage certificate - we got one after 3 weeks in her old name; got married and showed them the marriage certificate and NOA (from AOS) and get the SSN card reissued in the new name (took 6 or 7 weeks). Our bank was very good and added her name with just giving them the SSN and showing the marriage certificate - everybody else didn't ask for anything to prove the name (they added her to insurance etc. with just her SSN.) Good Luck
