Hi everyone...

My fiancee is going to visit me on Saturday and this is the first time he'll be visiting since we got the NoA1. He is quitting his job to come visit for 2 weeks and this is concerning to us.

What do we need to know and what should we expect from the folks at the border when he attempts to cross?

Thank you!

I am going to see my sweetie in November. I am preparing some documents to show my ties to Canada, mortgage, car payments, property deeds, job-letter from employer stating expected return date. I would try and get some proof to show them that he doesn't plan on staying with you. Quitting the job isn't a good start I wouldn't think. They say to drive if you can that way if you get turned away at least your not out the cost of the plane ticket. Good luck!

he is coming by bus, but should he bring all the paperwork i've prepared, and a copy of the noa1? if he has a return ticket would that help as well?

You'd be best served to ask this is the Canadian Regional Forum.

A return ticket will help. Bring any proof he has and don't mention he's going to see his 'fiance' (unless they already have a record of this)

He can bring the I-129f paperwork but don't pull it out unless specifically asked for it... at any border. If they are already aware of your relationship or ask specifically about it, having the paperwork may just show a POE officer you are doing this the 'appropriate way'. then again....

good luck

I have a friend that crossed over from Ontario and they are on the NOA2 actually for a weekend visit, they just asked why she was going, she answered visiting friends and then told her to have a nice day. Good luck!!!
