Andrew & I met online 6 years ago when I was 11 and he was 15. We were best friends online for a good 2 or so years with an inner flame for each other that we tried not to let it get in the way of our friendship. A number of things happened. As most of you may have read in other thread both of us are disabled from Muscular Dystrophy (a genetic muscle weakening condition). I went into hospital a few times, he wrote letters from the USA seeing as I couldn't use the internet. I was bedridden for a year or so and we scheduled special "sit up at the computer for 20 minutes" time where he'd meet me online to chat for 20 minutes as thats all I could handle. We've always been very close. We tried to see other people but at the end of the day the person each of us wanted was the one at the end of the day on the other side of the screen. We'd spend all day together online, webcams, microphones etc chatting and playing online chess and pool. He'd always throw in sweet comments how I'd make the perfect wife in which my heart would skip a thousand beats. In August 04 we gave in to our feelings and offically said we were a couple. We'd slipped into a couple without admitting until then. It was fantastic both of us just relaxed then. And on October 10th 04 Andy proposed to me online. We met for the first time June 05 thanks to a wish granting charity which is for seriously ill people. I wished to go see him and had a wonderful 3 weeks with him. I got my first kiss, hug, etc :) we exchanged rings went on a dinner cruise etc etc. Coming back to England was awful though and for months we seemed to be in a shocked state. It took us till October 05 to get the K-1 petition in. Emotionally we're coping as best we can. 6 years apart and then being thrown apart again was enough really to push us over the edge.

Love hurts

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

When you can live life again in the real world but still have that eternal connection

When you wake up for to the beginning of the rest of your life with the person you fought so hard for

When you love somebody that much

You'll do anything

Hi Andrew and Fiona! I'm such a sucker for the love stories that extend from childhood/early adulthood into adulthood. Such a sense of destiny and the power of history. ... Best of luck to you both during this brief visa journey (you'll see!) and welcome aboard :)

You will never grow old to me, or die, or be lost in any way.

Thanks Guys :D Really great that we came across this place. Theres so much guidance and supportive people who know exactly what it takes and is like to be in a long distance relationship. It's a big change to people questioning us as if we're doing something terrible! Then again we also get people who go "wow" as if it can't actually happen and its a shock to them. But you guys are great :)
