Hi all, i am in the middle of my AOS application, i am adjusting from the VWP and i filed in August. I was one of the lucky ones that has been able to view their case online since 4th September, (before my biometrics) and all of them: I-765, I-485 and I-130. I received my notification of my biometrics for September 23rd, however my Wife and I went along on the 12th and had it done with a walk-in. We are very eager to get my EAD card as soon as possible as with her being 21 and me being 19, we need all the income we can get at this point, as we are still saving for a church recognition wedding.

My question is, how long between the 12th and when i get my EAD card will it be, on an average scale? Anybody from the VWP adjustments have a rough time they received theirs too. I want to be working, sitting around the house is driving me crazy! And will my walk-in speed up my case at all, if not, anyway i can?

Thank you all in advance,

Richard

The only time biometrics affects when your EAD will be approved is if your biometrics is *late*. To clarify - one could theoretically have their biometrics in one week after filing for EAD. This does not mean the EAD will be processed early - it only means the ASC is way ahead on appointments. Conversely - if your ASC is behind (let's say scheduling 4 months out) chances are - thats the only missing piece to have your EAD adjudicated.

If you haven't waited 90 days total - you are still in normal processing, additionally being a VWP applicant has no bearing on the speed in which your EAD will be completed.

Normal waiting time is about five weeks after biometrics.

Richard,

Once Gary had his biometrics done, he had his EAD in hand approx. 3 weeks later. Of course every case and situation is different as LaL pointed out.

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1
