Hello!

Time has come for us to get our stuff together for the removal of conditions. I am stuck though. So far as proof we have a joint bank statement and medical insurance. I am not on the lease with him because our landlord doesn't know how to spell my name so he he hasn't included me for 2 years now. I pay all utilities and he pays rent. I don't have a car and I am not on his vehicle or insurance. So we don't have much to show, as we like to keep our finances seperate from one another. Is a bank statement and medical insurance card enough?

Thanks!

Janine

I wonder why many post questions about I-751 and fail to consider the directions of the form state using Affidavits from people attesting to relationship.

Because I don't think it's right to hold someone liable for my relationship. Plus I read the items a dozen times... just wanted to know if there was anyrthing else I might be able to include that I am not thinking of. I should have said I didn't want to "attesting" of my relationship.

Your evidence seems a bit sparse to me. Did you file taxes jointly? How about things showing you're at the same address - letters, drivers licenses? A joint Blockbuster membership? It's brainstorm time!

Exactly- all of the above PLUS photographs, cards and letters addressed to you both at your common address; rent bills AND utility bills (even if they are in each other names, they still show same address).

And the affidavits are still a good idea.

First off I'd teach your landlord how to spell your name. You need proof you LIVE together.

I forgot about the tax returns! I do have those.... the bank statement and tax returns show our address. I didn't see anything about photos in the list of "proof"... I thought about that though. We don't have any letters addressed to both of us... but we both get mail... alright... he's also a benificiary for my life insurance and for my savings account. that should be enough right?

Hi Mrs.Forgetful,

If you need more ideas, here is a list of evidence that I submitted for the I-751 a few weeks ago:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=118868&hl=

There is definitely more evidence you can add to what you have so far. Just make sure all the evidence that you have covers financially (bills, insurance, taxes, etc.), residency (housing documents, deeds, mortgages, leases, etc.), and personally (photos, mail, cards, affidavits, etc.). As well, all the evidence that you have needs to cover the entire period of your marriage and of your conditional residency.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your immigration journey.

From what i have read doing research is , if in anyway you fell you have not enough proff of being together . And time to remove the conditions of residence , following the 2 year after you are married . The best opition you have is , to have a family member or friend that you both know . To come with the both of you , to your local court house . And have your friend swear under oath , in writting that he know that the both of you have lived together and have been husband and wife since the time of your marriage . Then you have your friend or family member statements noterized , by a notory . Make one photo copy for your records , and send the original to uscis . With all your other paperwork . I hope i have helped in some way .

God Bless , both of you , and i hope you both have a very happy future together .
