My fiance got a blue slip today, because his application requires further processing. This is what has been said.

" Your immigrant visa application requires additional administrative processing bfore a visa can be issued. This processing cannot be waived and we cannot issue a visa until the processing is comlete. When the admnistrative processing is complete, we will advise yoy by phone/email. We regret that we are unable to provide you with any guidance as to how long the processin of your case will take. While the visa is being processed, there is no mechanism for "status check" "

What really worries me is how long the administrative processing will take. Its not like we need to provide an extra documents, its just the embassy's thingy.

Can anyone help/advise on this occasion? did anyone go under the same process?

Many thanks

Actually in Morocco I would be surprised if you didn't get this. Don't be upset or sad, this is all very normal. Although it is true that you never know for sure how long it will take there are ways to find the status. Hopefully someone here will remember the number, but you can call the Department of State. Some of the representatives are useless, but some will actually tell you what security checks they are doing. And when they are complete they can tell you that as well. Then it is a matter of waiting for the consulate to review the findings and call.

If this had stated it was being sent back to the USCIS then it would be a serious problem, but this is standard stuff so don't stress.

My husband too received the 221(g) AP processing form, not once, but 2x.

The first time for the K3 visa, it took a mere 12 days, thank god

BUT he got his interview for CR1 THE SAME DAY

so we went with CR1 and now we are in AP 4 months

nothing else to tell but wait wait wait

nothing you can do

it is the hardest thing to endure

but I pray, with the guidance of what others have said, that the call will come

we are praying

I don't think it would make any difference if he is Moroccan. Coming from an Arab country they are more likely to do AP. Perhaps his name had a hit. So many Arab's have common names, so even if it close to a suspects name they will look over it better. I have rarely seen a person denied after completing AP.

Oh, ok. Sorry to the OP! I wasn't sure if that made a difference. I know that some people who interview in London get their Visa the same day! And that never happens in Casa. So I guess the consulate doesn't matter, it's the applicant.

There actually was a time when visas were issued on the same day in Casa. But now, even if there is no AP, visas will not be issued on the same day as approval. So this could indeed be a difference in consulates. Some consulates issue same day, some don't.

Sorry to hear.... AP seems almost standard in some places. You will probably want to check with the MENA folks regarding the process in Morocco.

I'll move the post over there for you.

(mbk)

I have a friend who s husband had his interview in May and hes still not here ( he is from Morocco) They have no age difference. No looks difference. And yes they are in AP.. I think there is no rhyme or reason why...

I know .. I have a moroccan friend who married a girl he met in yahoo ( a puerto rican girl younger than him) back in 1997. She petitioned and did it in Casablanca.. the marriage etc and he was here in weeks... He subsequently left her in 1999 and never legally divorced her and he got his 10 year greencard within like one year.. it was NYC and I guess their process is really fast..

I heard a funny immigration story. A plane load from Royal Air Maroc arrived and a bunch of Moroccans got off. The immigration stopped each one and asked each one to call his wife... The ones who didnt know what their wives phone number even was or where they were were immediately taken into custody on immigration fraud. Word to the wise.. if you are married to An American.. at least know her phone number and address ok? LOL.... This is the reason there are massive aps in Morocco.... there has been tremendous amounts of marriage fraud from certain mena consulates.. Egypt and Morocco being the highest waits.. but My opinion is NOT that there is such high marriage fraud..my idea is that there are simply more petitions going through there.. and hence you just see more because the numbers are higher. I know of several marriage frauds going out of Algeria but because there are so few people petitioning, its just not as noticable. I DO believe that the consulates where there have been alot of problems are more wary to approve without some form of AP.

AP is just a killer. it drains u, its like u get sooo motivated for the interview and at the end, the CO tells u with a smile, that evrything seem to be in order and than u breath and then he goes BUT we need to do some further checks! and thats when the pain starts. its like ur put in a doctor's waitin room full of people and Dont know how long each one will take to get treated! but we just have to wait and wait.
