Hi all!

My fiance got a blue slip today, because his application requires further processing. This is what has been said.

" Your immigrant visa application requires additional administrative processing bfore a visa can be issued. This processing cannot be waived and we cannot issue a visa until the processing is comlete. When the admnistrative processing is complete, we will advise yoy by phone/email. We regret that we are unable to provide you with any guidance as to how long the processin of your case will take. While the visa is being processed, there is no mechanism for "status check" "

What really worries me is how long the administrative processing will take. Its not like we need to provide an extra documents, its just the embassy's thingy.

Can anyone help/advise on this occasion? did anyone go under the same process?

Many thanks

Did your fiance interview at the US Embassy in London or Casablanca? I see the Morrocco flag, so just need some clarification.

Either way, it is not at all unusual for US/Morroccan couples to be placed in administrative processing. No comfort to you, I am sure. However, it is better than a down-right denial. There is not much you can do but wait out the process. i wish you the best of luck for a speedy AP!

From previous posts of yours (some refering to minotities) I take it that your fiance is Moroccan but in London. I'm afraid there is no advice to give. AP is a waiting game, and a cruel one at that. You're correct in saying that there's nothing you can do but wait for what ever checks they are doing to be complete. There are some that went through AP in London, and some that it took some months. I hope you are one of the quick ones.

Regardless of his living in London for 5 years, he is still Morroccan and therefore your relationship will be subject to heightened scrutiny since Morrocco is (rightly or wrongly) considered to be a high fraud country for marriage based visas. Hopefully your AP won't be too long.

I'm sorry to hear this. It's so frustrating. It is unfortunately very true that they simply do not provide any further information about what is going on, what they're checking, or how long it might possibly take. You and your other half just need to hang in there and wait it out. London really is pretty good about it though at least.

On another website a guy contacted me to ask some questions about London because his fiance was not given the visa. He was pretty lost and didn't know anything about the process and had a big wedding scheduled. I told him about AP that is common in other countries and that's what it sounded like, even though in my short time here I had never heard of it in London. .They told him it could be 8 weeks and he messaged later that it was. I got him directed over here to VJ, so just searched and luckily he's using the same user name and has done a lengthy post on the subject. Here's his experience:
