Hi,

I just got an RFE for the medical exam, which of course I had in London.

I see from the posts that I have to really get a WHOLE new one, and I am obviously really frustrated as we have already paid for one.

Has anyone please gone through London to get theirs re-sent to them?

Thanks

Lily

You certain it's for the full medical? Or is it possible it's just for the medical/vaccination-supplement (I-693A)?

Hi Karin,

I thought it was for that, and so I was not too worried, then I came on here this mornign and freaked out lol! It says

"MEDICAL EXAMINATION (FORM I-693)

"Please submit a properly completed and signed for I-693, Medical Exam of ALiens seeking AOS"

SO unfortuantely I am fairly certain its for this not the I693A. It is so annoying as I have already spent alot in London to get this done, and it seems to be arbitrarily lost. But I guess now all I can do is fix it!

Thanks

Lily

When was your exam in London?

When did you file AOS?

What medical/vaccination forms did you include with your AOS?

Knowing this will help people help you.

Had my exam in February

Filed June 19th

included my DS form with all my vacc requirements up to date on it.

I think they just want the full medical because they lost it unfortunately!

Technically, we are supposed to include form I-693, not just the vaccination worksheet (DS-3025/2053). Some people just sent the vaccination worksheet and got approved, you received an RFE. You will need to have a Civil Surgeon copy your vaccination worksheet onto I-693. Most civil surgeon will try to convince you that you need another full exam, but you don't. You just need them to fill out some parts of the form, not the whole thing (see instructions below). Dr. Arnold in Texas does this by mail for $20. Do a search.

Read the instructions, section III, point 2 (page 4): http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693instr.pdf

see this is what is confusing me, as that is what i initially thought. but posts here seem to say that is only if they request the I693A. With me they asked for the I693, i.e. the full examination, not just the vaccinations.

I am really not sure what to do, whether to pay for the whole thing or just send it off to Texas, people seem to think differently, and the lady we spoke to was no help!

I-693A is no longer being used as of May 2008. It's extinct. The form to use now is I-693, it has a vaccination supplement.

If you decide to do a full medical, I found one that only charges $125 TOTAL. You are in NYC, correct?

Here is the thread about the inexpensive Civil Surgeon: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=142097

So its just a gamble whether or not I do a full medical or not? There is no way or knowing if I need one?

I ask because it says on my RFE I have to submit everything in one go, or my case is denied.

And yes I am in NYC, $125 sounds wonderful!

Thanks for all this help

My husband is from Egypt had his medical in February and we were sent a letter that his medical was not in his immigration file. We sent the copy of the DS to the consulate but they are stating that he has no medical record, the old one will not suffice and he has to have the complete medical done. This seems to be a trend.

Yes this is what a few people have said. Its difficult, obviously financially I would prefer to do the Texas Dr $20 thing, but I do not want to delay my papaerwork more!

ANyway, thanks for your input, and your baby is scrumptious!
