Notification of readiness for Interview - Question !

Hi all,

Well we're nearly there now - i have all the documentation ready for the interview, and am about to send the notification that i'm ready to arrange it.

On the last bit of the form though, the bit you sign & put your case number, it asks for the date of the medical examination, and date of purposed travel - now i called Knightsbridge Doctors in London and they very kindly said that they'd arrange for the medical to be done on the same day as the interview - so what should i write in these two boxes, as I don't know when my medical is, and therefore don't know what day i'm going to travel?

I'm about 250miles from London, so getting both done on the same day will save me a small fortune.

Anyone had any experience of this?

Thanks for reading, and look forward to any help!

Im sorry i cant help you with this question but I am intereseted in how you did this. Im in the same situation and not going to london twice would save me huge ££!

Thing is..what if your interview is say 9am in the morning? You need your medical before you have your interview so im just curious how you are going to work it as i want to do it hahah

My understanding is that you don't need to have had your medical BEFORE you have the interview - they just don't issue the visa until the medical has been done - when i called the doc's, the nurse there said - "well the interviews are usually in the morning, so we can book you in for an afternoon appointment"...anyone else have any thoughts?

Sorry to bump this, but i called the premium rate visa "helpline" this morning, and they said that the medical & interview need to be done on seperate days?

Can anyone help on this? I could really do with NOT travelling down to London twice...

Wow. That was a really seriously expensive load of ####### you paid for! You can certainly have them done on the same day, and like you said, it just means that there will be a delay of about three to four business days extra in getting the visa. Plenty of people here have reported successfully doing both on the same day. So definitely ignore the silly "help" line.

On the form, for date of medical, write that you plan to arrange it to be in the afternoon on the interview day. And for date of travel, if you want to go right away, write something like "As soon as possible", which implies you will travel as soon as you can after the visa is issued. They're not expecting everyone to have firm dates. :)

Thank you ever so much!

I actually called Knightsbridge doctors this morning, who were VERY helpful, and they pretty much confirmed what you've said here, that you can arrange the medical ONCE you know the date of the interview, and that the Embassy is fine with this and won't hold up the interview date.

Well, i'm posting tomorrow so will update when i know my date!!

Thanks again!!
