Why isn't anyone ever happy?

i think that if most ppl are jumping for joy with happiness, for the most part, they wont be lurking forums on the internet for hours on end either

i dont mean everyone is miserable, but ppl can be 'content'... if blissful joy and happiness were so commonplace in your life, then it would become the norm, thereby content... it is the fact that it is not so often that we find such true joy that makes it so valuable and desirable

maybe im not making sense... it makes sense in my head

the 'happy' thread was a pizztake and it was all in good fun....a few ppl are negative on another forum here, and all of a sudden OT's 'negative'....at least that's my take on why the second thread was started

People are going to be how they're going to be & nothing will change that....you can either accept that or not, but opening a thread saying 'why isn't everyone happy' is kind of superfluous if you ask me. Pretty sweeping statement too....are you unhappy?

Why is it that today someone created a topic called ''What is the deal with people being so negative here lately?'' and someone else created a topic called ''What's with everyone being so nice here lately?''? So you can't be too happy, you can't be too miserable, no matter what people will be after you because you did something wrong. Right? I'm not happy because I have the roomates from hell and have problems with them almost daily (none of it being my fault, obviously), so that generally puts me in a bad mood.

All English people must be able and willing to complain about the weather, British Rail, the Govt, or the crime rate (pick one) on cue; inability to do so is regarded as bizarre and possibly traitorous.

Offenders are often sent to France to get over themselves (and have something tangible to complain about), failing that they are sentenced to 3 years of Jim Davidson 'comedy' re-runs, and a compulsory 'watch Big Brother' order.

At the end of the sentence they must be able to speak for at least 10 minutes on 'why our TV is better than the American's' without repeating themselves, and this must include the phrase 'bloody Yanks' at least once.
