Zainab,

How are you feeling today?

I'm so much better today. My VJ sisters definitely had my back and I told my hubby so as well. He gave me a look, but he knows the VJ subettes will come looking for him if he don't do right by me. I like Heather's idea of an adjustment support group. I agree that people don't talk much about it here on VJ and I know it's so they don't get flamed that their marraige was a scam or their hubby is using them. I've learned to ignore people on VJ so I put myself out there for the support that I needed. So, the haters can form their own support group, haters aren't anonymous. Hee Hee. Okay, I'm punch drunk. But Bassi and I spoke last night which helped us on the path to healing. I'll try that Chapman book Boaz. I have Now You're Speaking my Language by him that I may have to pull out and dust off too. Maybe we can read it together.

Z

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Tell you hubby the VJ sisters RIDE or DIE! LOL! The idea of a support group sounds wonderful. How do we get it started? There are some positive vibes going on in this forum and I appreciate all of the posts.

Zee? You're organized and good at starting things. I'm a follower and supporter! Tell me how to help and I'm there.

Sorry to throw you under the bus. Maybe we could start a Yahooo Group or something if it shouldn't be on here. I don't know.

That's good for me. I'm open to others joining, but definitely have control over who joins so that we feel comfortable to speak. How do the rest of ya'll feel?

I see the wonder twins are cooking up a support group for transitions.

go 'head, go head!!! I aint mad atcha. I support you guys in whatever is right and edifying. I'm still in the shadows praying and supporting. I do wish you guys the best in you alls relationships 'cause I know it aint easy by no means. There is so much that goes into making these situations work, not to mention the silent fears that creep up during the storms of life but I know that God did not give you a spirit of timidity and he made you all more than conquerers, he made you all victorious. I love you guys and I am praying for you guys to overcome this test and to supercede these trials. I am praying for you guys to set the example and be the exception.

Erica, Z and Z, LL, P, Boaz, Boo Boo, Marlita, We_Des, and so many more (you know who you are), you guys are my trans-intercultural-relationship heros. Y'all some strong women cut from some non-synthetic threads.

Hello Subbies!!!

I do lurk around every now and then to see what you guys are up to. I am in for the support group. The adjustment I think is the hardest part of the visa journey.

P: Put things very well that people don't talk about this topic because you may be judged but it is a topic that should be

discussed.

Everything is not roses like you dream of when your spouse arrives they are human and not perfect and you go through an adjustment as well. My husband has been here just over a year and we have both come a long way.

Taurean: I loved what you wrote!!

Boaz: I will definitely be checking that book out!!

Zainab: Sorry things are rough they will get better and have patience something I am still to this day working on!!

GOD BLESS (F)

This sounds like a good idea....it does need to feel like safe group or we will have the same problems that we do now, no one will speak out.

Some guy told me to spray Silicone on the rubber, will that work also ? I will definitely remember that for the next big chill.

It's not the locks, just where the rubber meets the metal door frame and it is aggravating.

Sylvia,

Sorry you endured so much. However, I am glad you were able to spend time with your SO.

I'm at work. FINALLY! I had a HORRIBLE weekend. We had an ice storm. I had no electricity and no heat all weekend. Just miserable. Then I topped off the weekend with another knockdown drag out fight with Bassi. Any that have been here a while have advice for me and Bassi. This transition is KILLING me. Maybe killing us. I'm so tired of arguing! Why does he have to be so darn stubborn?! I never thought I'd be so happy to be at work. I'm gonna get some rest today.

(F)

Things were so good as we hadn't seen each other in over a year. Poor man wore his arm out fanning me. I had so much going on. Trying to act well enough not to worry anyone and trying to keep track of everything that I was being shown. I have a lot to learn with the unexpected death of his father. Next year they want me to spend a week in training with his mother which should be great with no common language between us. But I am sure something will work out.

When it comes to fighting I have found that most people tend to fight too often. It is a hard thing to learn what is really worth having a fight about and what isn't. I know when I was younger I was way to eager to convince my ex my opinion was the right one at all costs.
