Ghanaian elections going on. They have not announced a winner and I am glued to Ghana radio.

Happy Eid Zee! I was almost happy I'm still not fully recovered from my illness or I might have had to fast with Bassi on Sunday. HATE IT!!

Bassi and my fight is over. But it's interesting, we didn't talk about this on the other thread. We always talk about how African men don't talk. But I find that they DO communicate. At least mine does. When I got home last night, he said sorry. No, not with his mouth. He washed all my laundry, cleaned the bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, cleaned the litter box, cleaned out the hallway closet (I've been trying to get to that, but life gets in the way~so he also proved he listens to me), vacuumed the entire house and cleaned the kitchen. I accepted his apology by making spaghetti with home made italian meatballs and baking his favorite cornbread muffins. I guess I just have to learn a new way to communicate. What do ya'll think?

Sweet !

Z,

Yeah I think that counts as communication. Now don't go startin' fights to get the house cleaned.

Does Bassi normally clean or was he going the extra mile? Either way, it seems to have resolved the issue. I'm sure you guys had a nice dinner together.

That is amazing!

I think I like this communication method

I think everyone has different ways of saying they messed up. Some take to cleaning. Others say it. Others buy flowers.

The point is getting the message across :)

I won't say the thought hadn't crossed my mind. :innocent:

Bassi helps around the house. I do all the cooking and he cleans up after me. He washes the dishes and cleans the kitchen. We have a traditional, I think, break out of responsibilities right now cause he mostly handles outside and I handle inside and he's in charge of fixing or moving things and I'm his supervisor. Since it started snowing, I'm very happy with that arrangement. But he often helps me inside. I some times think he wouldn't want his friends to know, but I don't care. I'm just glad he makes an effort to help out. We don't argue or have any tension over that.

I don't think the issue is resolved. We still have to work through it. But at least the screaming and throwing of things has stopped.

I'm VERY verbal. So, we have completely opposite ways of communicating and it took a conscious effort from me to turn to his way of communicating last night. I like to sit at a table with a pad and make lists and weigh options and come to a compromise. Bassi seems to find that intimidating. He once said he feels like I'm trying to force him into something and he's never sure where I'm really going with all this stuff I write. I tell him I don't have a destination in mind when I start, but I trust the process will bring us both to the destination we can both live with.
